Kristina Õllek (b. 1989) is a visual artist based in Tallinn, Estonia. She works in the field of photography, video and installation, within she questions the relations between space, object and image, considering the context of an original and a copy.

Her work examines the contemporary image culture, the possibilities of how representation can be dealt with and how does it influence our perception. She’s specifically interested in the format of an exhibition making and in the phenomenon of art documentation, regarding how has its position changed in contemporary art today, in the digital age.

Kristina Õllek has graduated with a MA and BA degree from Estonian Academy of Arts (Fine Arts, Photography), has studied at Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam (2016) and Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee (2012). She’s been the laureate of the Estonian Academy of Arts Young Artist Prize 2013 (BA) and 2016 (MA). Since 2013 she’s the co-founder and member of artist-run space Rundum.

Kristina Õllek (1989) on Tallinnas elav ja töötav kunstnik, kes keskendub peamiselt fotograafiale, video- ja installatsioonikunstile. Ta on lõpetanud Eesti Kunstiakadeemia fotograafia osakonna magistriõppe ning täiendanud ennast Rotterdamis Piet Zwart Instituudis ja Berliinis Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensees. Õlleki teosed on valitud rahvusvaheliste kuraatorite poolt tänavu kahele Tallinna Fotokuu põhiprogrammi näitusele ning oktoobris avaneb tal koos Kert Viiartiga Hobusepea galeriis näitus “You Know You’ve Become Part of the View”.
