Peter Saville was born in Manchester. In 1979, as a founder of Factory Records, the legendary independent label, he created a series of iconic album covers for the groups Joy Division and New Order. Through the medium of design and art direction, he has created seminal work in music, culture and fashion. He is also politically engaged as consultant Creative Director to the City of Manchester.

The Peter Saville Show took place at the Design Museum London, 2003 touring to Tokyo and Manchester. Peter Saville Estate was at the Migros Museum Zurich, 2005. In 2011 key archival works were also featured in Postmodernism: Style and Subversion at the V&A Museum London and also in their show British Design: Innovation in the Modern Age.

Peter Saville collaborates with Anna Blessmann on a series of works which have been shown at Paul Stolper Gallery London, CRAC Alsace, Migros Museum Zurich, Whitechapel London and in various publications. In 2010 they presented Swing Project 1 in the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Reims and in 2012 Swing Project 2 was exhibited at Galerie Neu in Berlin.

A travers cette exposition, Anna + Peter élaborent une critique aiguisée des tactiques du postmodernisme qui ont amené à la création d’un monde entièrement voué à la consommation et à la communication, où l’hybridité des formes n’a d’égal que leur inutilité. Or, comme ils nous le rappellent opportunément, < rien d'inutile ne peut être véritablement beau >.
Anna + Peter se sont rencontrés dans une galerie de Berlin en 2001 et ont très vite démarré une collaboration et créé des œuvres qui ont été présentées dans différents lieux d’exposition et publications. Née en 1969 à Berlin, Anna Blessmann a suivit des études en art à la HdK de Berlin de 1989 à 1996 ; elle vit et travaille à Londres depuis 2002.

Under the name of Anna + Peter, German artist Anna Blessmann and legendary British designer Peter Saville present their first exhibition at the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne.

The work developed in recent years with Anna Blessmann has become increasingly removed from the idea of design as “problem solving”, and has instead drawn closer to conceptual art, thus leaving aside the creation of forms for the re-arrangement and the reassessment of context and cultural status.

Anna Blessmann, on the other hand, brings us all of its physicality, sensitivity and sensuality.

Anna Blessmann, was born in Berlin in 1969, and studied Fine Art at HdK in Berlin from 1989 to 1996. She has been living and working in London since 2002. She has had solo exhibitions at Achim Kubinski Gallery in Berlin and at Galerie Reinhard Hauff in Stuttgart, and has participated in group shows such as 37 Rooms, Kunstwerke, Berlin, Die Macht des Alters – Strategien der Meisterschaft et Come in and find out, vol. 2, Podewill, Berlin. Her work Has been featured in various publications and on record covers.
