French artist and designer Arnold Goron has filled seven high fashion stores with installations of aluminum plates stapled to wooden structures.
Goron says he had wanted for some time to create an installation using aluminum plates, but there were ‘too flat and looked cheap.’ His solution was found in ‘snail plates,’ a typically French design, which are covered in small embossed circles.
Using over 10,000 plates, Goron has filled Isabel Marant shop windows worldwide. The installations can be seen at the fashion designer’s shops in Paris, New York, Madrid, Beirut, Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo.
‘I really enjoyed making a unique piece for each space,’ Goron says. ‘The shape of the installation flows freely from working in each [unqiue] space.’
