Work: Intrigued by the implementation of technology, which is more and more with us and almost becomes part of us.
Fusing the real and the unreal, blurring the transition between what we are and how we
optimise or improve our being. Eye jewellery shows our scientific capabilities while showing the beauty of imperfection.

Eric Klarenbeek (Amsterdam 1978) graduated in 2003 at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Since then he has designed for clients such as Davidoff, Droog, Moooi, Studio Makkink & Bey, the city of Amsterdam and the province Gelderland, while teaching at the Art Academy Enschede. His projects have been exhibited and published extensively. His windlight is presented at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and ‘The Floating Light Project’ was rewarded with ‘De Willie Wortel Prijs’, the award for innovative design at The Design Academy Eindhoven, and honoured for the Apartprize 2006.

Eric Klarenbeek does special projects, or let’s say the unusual, for unusual people, projects or purposes. His studio connects creatives, designers, local crafts and clients by inventing new projects and products and believing our world can be so much better, more beautiful and honest. “My work is characterized by interaction and innovation. My products can be in motion, react on our presence or respond on developments in our society. I search for new meaning and principles in objects, for unexplored connections between materials, production methods, makers and users. Scale and appliance are irrelevant. I’ve designed jewellery, but also developed concepts to connect tourists to local craftsmen”, says Eric.

Specialties
Special products and projects. Crossing boundaries of media, crafts, interior and exterior.

Studio
Our team consists of 3 designers and interns, working on experimental projects & products. We want the best and most refined designs, in concept, graphics and in our use of material. We search for new connections and innovative solutions. Every project is a research, resulting in interior and public space appliances and designs.

As joias oculares do Eric Klarenbeek.

A contact lens becomes jewellery, such as spectacles ever became a representation of our identity. Our fear for imperfectness makes us modify our surrounding and being, striving for virtual perfection. Not being someone we should be, but someone we could be. Aesthetics are more and more based on Photoshop’s capabilities and slightly becomes the norm for plastic surgery, instead of nature. Eye jewellery shows our scientific capabilities while showing the beauty of imperfection.
