The green car

The green car site specific installation, Hoorn, the Netherlands, 2002. A historic building from the 16th century acquired a completely new façade which is coated with green car-lacquer paint. The surface and colour matches exactly the green Opel Kadett which is parked right in front of the building. The only opening in the new façade was the entrance to the restaurant which is located in the tower. Apart from the entrance the only other details that were kept from the façade was the restaurant sign, lamps and two large flower pots.
