Justin Lui is a designer and artist pursuing the integration of responsive media into the physical world. He explores the intersections between media technology and architecture in order to create objects, spaces, and surfaces which are dynamic and intelligent.

His formal training is in architecture, and he includes interaction design, DJing and music production in his mix of skills. Currently based in Los Angeles, Justin was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and has previously worked in New York City and Toronto. He recently earned an MFA degree from UCLA Design Media Arts, and also holds an M.Arch II degree from UCLA Architecture and Urban Design, and a B.Arch degree from the Carleton University School of Architecture.

Justin is a member of the Defectikons media art team, with whom he has co-created several media installations and music projects. He is currently working at Variate Labs with Robert Miles Kemp, developing next-generation interfaces and interactive spatial architecture projects.
