‘Just between you and me’ by Keetra Dean Dixon sees items intended for use by one person (or at least by one person at a time) transform into objects of co-dependency. Keetra Dean Dixon is a designer and artist working under the handle FromKeetra. Her often frazzled NYC based workshop pushes its focus towards non-commissioned work, but occasionally finds the lure of a shiny client job too seductive to resist.

Just Between You and Me es una serie de objetos de co-dependencia de Keetra Dean Dixon. Personalemente pienso que muchos de ellos caen en el cliche. Sin embargo, pienso que hay dos de ellos que vale la pena rescatar.

Hi, I’m Keetra. I currently divide my time between public installations, exhibits, commercial projects, and speaking. Professionally I have worked under the titles Designer, Director, Experiential Choreographer and Artist. My work often plays with the fallibility of communication and social exchange. Formal explorations are spurred on by discovery, exploiting the shortcomings of ubiquitous creative tools, forced happy accidents and emergent technologies.

I live on the East Coast of the US where I keep an active studio practice with JK Keller.
See fromktoj.com for excerpts of joint process and collaborative works.

Work: Keetra Dean Dixon straddles a wide set of mediums in her playful and process-oriented work. With a foothold in graphic design, she often reaches into speculative terrain including experiential work, installation, and sculpture. By leveraging emergent technologies and shortcomings in ubiquitous creative tools Dixon evolves form and integrates discovery into the design process. Her projects are spurred on by the fallibility of communication and attempts to connect. By utilizing the flicker between concise communication and confusion, Dixon hopes to provide surprising and mesmerizing moments in the discord between intention, action and interpretation.
