Lang Baumann é uma empresa de arquitetura baseada na Suíça que faz experiências com as objetos e locais cotidianos, como paredes, pisos, tubos e cantos. Através do design, Lang transforma o comum para que as pessoas tenham olhar diferente.

A empresa fez seis projetos com a escada como conceito principal, e foi um grande sucesso no mundo todo. As escadas geralmente estão se torcendo de alguma forma, sempre brancas e feitas de madeira. O objetivo principal destas criações é tornar tudo vertiginoso e o mais perigoso possível.

Se ragioniamo sul significato di questo elemento ci rendiamo conto di quanto sia profondo, simboleggiano connessione, ma allo stesso tempo danno struttura. Le scale sono un punto cruciale in ogni progetto e l’ossessione che hanno gli architetti per le loro dimensioni, per la loro morbidezza, per la loro forma…. beh non devo dire altro. Gli artisti Sabina Lang e Daniel Baumann, svizzeri, sono anch’essi vittime della seduzione dei gradini. Hanno realizzato alcune opera davvero interessanti usando le scale, quasi onnipresenti nei loro lavori. Molto spesso sono scale sradicate dagli edifici e sospese nel vuoto di una stanza, vedi la serie “Beautiful steps”. Altre volte sono scale messe in posti assurdi, dove non potrebbero mai stare… forse.
