YOSHIKAZU YAMAGATA

source: dazeddigital

Born and raised in the countryside of Japan, Yoshikazu Yamagata went to London to study fashion at Central Saint Martins. “I learned not about fashion but focused on design and creation and explored how I can shape my idea,” he says with regards to the fact that creation is orginal expression that goes beyond fashion with his label, writtenafterwards. For example, one of his works “A Long Story” is a huge bra which was about the same size as a tall tree. At his forth collection, he created a full collection only made of trash. In 2009, he found Koko no Gakkou, a fashion school and community space where students can share their ideas. He expands the concept of fashion and proves to us how fashion is art.
