Se trata de un dirigible en forma de ballena y funcionando en base a la premisa de preservación del medio ambiente. Este extravagante hotel aéreo será inaugurado este mismo año, y funcionará con helio.

El servicio que ofrece es una vuelta al mundo en tres días a bordo de una de sus sesenta habitaciones. El viaje no tendrá escalas y será continuo, pudiendo el pasajero apreciar todo tipo de paisajes a lo largo del mundo.

Este ambicioso hotel aéreo ha sido el fruto de la mente del francés Jean Marie Massaud, un diseñador francés que quien sabe porque razón soñó con un vehículo aéreo como este. Su estudio, junto al Centro de Investigación Aeroespacial de Francia (ONERA), ha llevado a buen puerto la idea, con un diseño que ha sido galardonado con el Design Observer 2008.

La idea de Manned Cloud es que de la vuelta al mundo en un tiempo récord, ¡tan sólo tres días! Para lograr la hazaña, y de paso disfrutar de un tiempo de relax, el dirigible dispone de 500 metros de largo en donde los pasajeros podrán pasar un momento único, cenar como nunca lo han hecho mientras por las ventanas el blanco de las nubes los acecha una y otra vez.

Fancying the idea of a flying hotel, the designer Jean Marie Massaud conjured up the future options for travel, the Manned Cloud! Bagging the award by the Design Observer 2008, the Manned Cloud is actually a flying hotel that will enable its commuters to indulge and experience spectacular and exotic places without being intrusive or exploitative. The whale-shaped airship, developed by Massaud Studio in affiliation with French national aerospace research body ONERA, will be able to accommodate 40 guests and have a range of 5,000 km. Two two-deck cabin will contain amenities including a restaurant, a library, a fitness suite and a spa. Travellers can also take a sun bath on a sun deck on top of the double helium-filled envelopes. It will be a dream come true for many to live in the sky and watch the Earth from above. Hit the jump for more pics of this whale in the sky.

It is estimated that the travelers can enjoy a non-stop round the world in 3 days, while staying in any of its 60 rooms as the Manned Cloud will have a cruising speed of 130 km/h and a top speed of 170 km/h. Since this behemoth gets its lift from helium, there’s not much danger of a fiery hydrogen explosion.

Cet hôtel-dirigeable de 213 mètres, respectueux de l’environnement, pourra transporter jusqu’à 40 hôtes pour une croisière autour du monde. 20 chambres, un restaurant, une bibliothèque, un bar, une salle de gym et mêmes des terrasses avec des fenêtre panoramiques, un spa et un café…
Date de sortie du Manned Cloud prévue en 2020, alors on commence les économies aujourd’hui !
