Golden Record Received is a short film written, created, performed, and edited by Katarina Hughes. The film follows space traveler Iridia, who after receiving the Golden Record—a time capsule of sounds from planet Earth—addresses her fellow citizens as they finally approach this distant planet for the first time. But when she arrives, the truth about humanity is revealed…

BIO

Katarina Hughes is an LA-based writer, actor, and filmmaker. An NYU Tisch grad, her work has been featured internationally at Malibu Film Festival, Just for Laughs, Austin Film Festival and the UN Environmental Assembly among others.  She often weaves together comedy, idiosyncratic characters, and sci-fi to explore the existential question: “Why am I me, in this body, at this moment in time?”
