Kartais meno ir estetikos ribos išsiplečia iki begalybės, o paprastus batelius kūrę dizaineriai staiga nutaria nušluostyti kolegoms nosis ir sugalvoja tikrą beprotybę. Taip nutiko ir vokiečių dizainerei Iris Schieferstein, kuri vieną dieną nusprendė kurti ne bet kokią avalynę, bet tą, kuriuoje naudojamos mirusių gyvūnų dalys, nes tai, neva, prailgina jų gyvenimo trukmę.

TŪKSTANČIUS KAINUOJANTYS ŠEDEVRAI
Dizainerė praleidžia nemažai laiko ieškodama jau nebegyvų padarų kūno dalių (jas teikia jos pažįstamas mėsininkas iš Berlyno), tada – iš jų mėnesius kurdama ekstravagantiškas batelių kolekcijas, kuriose dominuoja aukštakulniai iš arklių kanopų, batai žudikai iš gyvatės odos ar basutės, kurias puošia negyvų balandžių iškamšos. Nenuostabu, kad tokią lengvai paplaukusią menininkę nusižiūrėjo pati Lady Gaga, paprašiusi jai sukurti batelius iš arklio kanopų, su kuriais ne kartą pasirodė viešumoje. Viena tokių batų pora apytiksliai kainuoja apie 16 000 litų.

NELABAI MALONUS PROCESAS
Garsioji dizainerė, paklausta, kodėl ėmė kurti tokias keistenybes, tikina: “Aš myliu arklius ir batus. Todėl abu pomėgius sujungiau į vieną.” Paklausta, ar mėsinėti kritusių gyvūnų kūnus nešlykštu, Iris pridūrė: “Iš dalies tai bjaurus darbas, ypač mėsos nuėmimas nuo kaulų ir odos, bet ką padarysi. Tai – Menas”.

German artist Iris Schieferstein has created some of the most extreme footwear I’ve yet to come across…Regular viewers of my blog will know of my love for taxidermy and any artist who creates beautiful things from reclaimed animal carcasses…

Schieferstein creates shoes from cow hooves, guns, fur and other objects…resulting in controversial, yet extraordinary foot-art. So controversial in fact, that in her home country of Germany, Schieferstein was threatened with a jail sentence for her ‘obscene’ work…

In an interview for Dazed Digital, when asked what attracted her to work with deceased animals, she had this to say…
My interest in using animals began in 1990. I was thinking about what we eat whilst I was preparing some fish. They are like garbage. They can’t eat or sleep or whatever. Then I started with chicken, because they look a little bit human-like. I started using them because of the nature of making and fixing, but also to create another material from the animals too. Of course, you could create them for a practical purpose, but for me it’s an artwork.

Although people may be shocked by her work, I think its a perfectly acceptable material to use. Hooves would normally be disposed of in an abattoire, so why not use every last piece of the animal, even if it is for art? I see it as a celebration (albeit a morbid one) of the animals life.

Iris Schieferstein, um designer alemão, de 45 anos, criou uma nova linha de sapatos femininos feita com partes de animais mortos. Construiu modelos feitos de patas de cavalo, cobras e pombos.

A cantora Lady Gaga, conhecida além da sua música, pela sua extravagância das suas roupas, recebeu um par de sapatos feitos com pata de cavalo. O artista vende os seus sapatos até cerca de 4620 €.

O designer procura a matéria-prima do seu trabalho num talho local, em Berlim. Para retirar o restante de carne e ossos das partes dos animais mortos, Iris leva cerca de uma semana. Depois o couro recebe tratamento para ficar preservado e, por fim, cria-se um modelo de calçado.

Com certeza, quem não deve ser a favor destas criações, serão os defensores dos direitos dos animais!
