Antonio Pio Saracino e’ un Architetto e Designer nato in Italia, che attualmente vive e lavora tra New York e l’Italia. Nel 2003 ha conseguito la laurea con lode all’Universita’ di Architettura ‘La Sapienza’ di Roma, dove ha collaborato anche come assistente di progettazione. Nei due anni successivi ha lavorato in diversi studi di architettura in Italia e negli Stati Uniti, tra i quali lo studio di Massimiliano Fuksas a Roma, dove ha collaborato al progetto per il Palazzo Congressi EUR.

Dal 2004, Saracino ha lavorato con l’architetto di New York Steve Blatz su interni, progetti concettuali e concorsi di design, quali la Seed House, una residenza a forma di seme, che è stata premiata con l’American Architecture Award nel 2007 dal Chicago Museum of Architecture. I suoi progetti hanno vinto diversi premi di arte, architettura e design, inclusi quattro Future Furniture Awards dalla rivista americana Interior Design Magazine. I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su riviste di architettura e arte in Italia, Francia, Belgio, Inghilterra, Olanda, Russia, Giappone, Korea, Brasile,Stati Uniti e Australia. Nel 2007 il suo progetto per gli interni della boutique Tibi di SoHo, New York, è stato pubblicato sul numero Best of the Year della rivista americana Interior Design Magazine e nel Global Shop di Wallpaper*. A maggio dello stesso anno, è stato nominato uno dei 25 piu’ interessanti trend-setters dalla rivista newyorkese ARTnews Magazine.

Tra il 2007 – 2008 Saracino è stato selezionato come vincitore di Agorafolly Europalia a Buxelles, per creare un’opera che celebrasse il 50° anniversario dell’Unione Europea. La grande installazione di Saracino, che ha rappresentato l’Italia, è stata eretta davanti alla Stazione Centrale della città belga. Negli ultimi dieci anni i suoi progetti e opere sono stati esposti in gallerie e musei di tutto il mondo, tra cui Roma, Venezia, Bruxelles, Londra, Mosca, Cordoba, San Paolo, Mexico City, Atene, Sydney, New York e Washington DC. Saracino ha disegnato per ENI il trofeo per il campionato mondiale di Formula Uno e Moto GP 2010-11. Nel 2011 ha realizzato il GATE 150, un monumento per onorare il 150° anniversario dell’Unità d’Italia per il Museo Caraffa di Cordoba in Argentina e il MuBE Museo di San Paolo in Brasile.

Sempre nello stesso anno si è posizionato nella Top Ten degli Architetti Italiani sotto i 36 anni per il premio New Italian Blood. Saracino e’ stato invitato a esporre i propri lavori alla 54a edizione della Biennale di Venezia, nel Padiglione Italia nel Mondo.

Antonio Pio Saracino is an Italian-born architect and designer, living and working in New York and Italy. In 2003, Saracino graduated cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Architecture at ‘La Sapienza’ University of Architecture in Rome, where he worked as assistant professor of architectural design. For the following two years, he worked with several Italian and US architectural firms including Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome on the project for the Palazzo Congressi.

Since 2004, he has collaborated with New York-based architect Steve Blatz on interiors, conceptual projects and design competitions, including Seed House, a pod-shaped residence, winner of the American Architecture Award in 2007 by the Chicago Museum of Architecture. Saracino is a four-time winner of the Future Furniture design competition sponsored by Interior Design magazine, New York. His projects have received extensive coverage in architecture and art publications in Italy, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Russia, Japan, Korea, Brazil, the US and Australia. His design work for Tibi boutique in Soho, New York (2007) was featured in Interior Design’s ‘Best of the Year’ issue and the ‘Global Shop’ section of Wallpaper*. He was also named one of the world’s 25 most interesting trendsetters by ARTnews magazine, New York.

In 2007-2008 Saracino was selected as the winner of the Agorafolly art competition in Brussels, Belgium, to create a work celebrating the 50th anniversary of the European Union. His large-scale installation was mounted in front of the Central Train Station. For more than a decade, Saracino’s designs and work have been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Rome, Venice, Trieste, Brussels, London, Athens, Moscow, Cordoba, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, New York, Washington and Sydney. Saracino designed the 2010-11 Formula 1 and Moto GP World Championship trophy for ENI. In 2011 GATE 150 was designed as a monument honoring the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy for the Caraffa Museum in Cordoba Argentina and the MuBE Museum in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

He has been recognized as one of the Top Ten Italian Architects under 36-years old by the New Italian Blood award. In 2011 he participated in the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale, as part of the Italian Pavilion in the World.
