Each object in the Kishu collection is carefully weighted at its base to support its lopsided structure. “I worked for a long time to get the balance just right,” Selway told Dezeen.

The delicate pieces are made from oxidised copper, and the vase also has a shallow silver dish for holding water.

The bottles and bowls are purely decorative, but the candle holder and the vase can be used as shown.

Selway trained as a silversmith and jeweller at Camberwell College of Arts in London and Bishopsland near Reading, and has also worked making props and building sets for theatre and film.

Other unusual candle holders we’ve featured on Dezeen include one with a sandpaper base for striking matches and a series of stackable candle holders made from copper, steel and lumps of concrete.

“I worked for a long time to get the balance just right,” says British designer Maya Selway. The Kishu collection hinges on balance, physics and perfection. Barely there, these partial wire decorative pieces are delicate. Their black outline is subtle and intriguing. They are made of oxidized copper. Among the collection are a set of bowls, candle stick holders, a vase, and an assortment of bottles.

Дизайнерские объекты, которые выглядят как незаконченные наброски подсвечников, ваз, мисок и бутылок, удостоились второго места в категории «Вещь» на выставке Interieur 2012, прошедшей в городе Кортрейк, Бельгия. Интересный проект под названием «Kishu» был придуман и реализован дизайнером Майей Селвей (Maya Selway) из Великобритании.

Каждый из предметов коллекции, созданной Майей, был тщательно сбалансирован у основания, чтобы сделать неравномерную структуру устойчивой. Дизайнер рассказала, что она потратила достаточно много времени, чтобы найти действительно правильный баланс.

Утонченные изделия были изготовлены из окисленной меди. В комплекте с вазой идёт небольшая серебряная тарелочка для воды.

Бутылки и миски из данной коллекции могут послужить только в декоративных целях. А вот подсвечник и ваза могут выполнять и привычные для себя функции – поддерживать свечу и цветы соответственно.

乍看之下很像設計初期的手繪草稿，不過它們可都是貨真價實的完成品喔！設計師 Maya Selway 藉由素材簡化的手法，打造出一組”不經意卻依舊存在”的花器作品，瞧它們遊走於二次元和立體空間的造型，輪廓線條簡單到讓人不禁要捏把冷汗！

和一般容器不同，『Kishu Collection』沒有所謂的”物體表面”，而是採用類似素描打底的結構線條一樣，純粹以金屬概略勾勒出容器的輪廓，細看還可以看到這些金屬線有粗細不同表現，看似樸實簡單的作品，製作卻不粗糙無趣，帶點戲劇性的張力。

雖然『Kishu Collection』看似隨便撇個幾筆做出來的東西，除了不能裝水之外，該有的支撐功能性卻一點也不少，和立體物品之間還會產生微妙的空間錯覺，簡單而富有趣味性。Maya Selway 這組作品日前也在 2012 Interieur Design Awards上得獎，目前可在國外 CULTURE LABEL
