We love the mixed-media photographs of young Dutch artist Amber Isabel. “At first glance her images convey a sense of serenity, inviting the viewer in. Once inside the calmness appears unbearable to her struggling subjects.” Amber Isabel sees the use of beauty as a means to temporarily deny the chaos and incompleteness of daily reality.

In the summer of 2010 Amber Isabel (1988) graduated with honors at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. During her internship she assisted renowned photographer Erwin Olaf.
