Over in TV and Shorts you’ll find all manner of characters, as well as familiar faces; here Wallace, Gromit and Shaun hang out with Angry Kid and the Pearce Sisters, among many others.
Digital are the babies of the Aardman bunch, but they’re no weaklings. They’re the ones filling the internet with all sorts of interactive goodies. Games, websites, virtual worlds, viral campaigns; you name it they’ve developed, uploaded and played it.
The Commercials department are always busy too- with wide-reaching and varied campaigns under their collective belt. Highly recommended is the Directors page- you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll take up animation.

Aardman Animations has produced an epic and evocative set of videos for a BBC Radio 2 play celebrating the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon album.

Dark Side, which will air on August 26, is a fantastical and psychedelic radio drama written by Tom Stoppard, based on themes from the album, and Aardman has created a three-minute promotional film as well as an extended looped film to complement the audio experience online.

According to its director Darren Dubicki, the trailer aims to encompass the underlying themes of the drama and album – greed, conflict, consumption, humanity and madness. It features images juxtaposed with lyrics and dialogue from the play.

My parents used to dream about the future listening to Pink Floyd’s “The Darkside of the Moon”, I used to fall asleep by its melody in my toddler’s years. And now they are back to celebrate 40 Years of this epic album on my 32th Birthday this weekend :D No coincidence, just some facts. BBC Radio 2 commissioned Aardman to create a three minute film, to accompany an original new radio play written by Sir Tom Stoppard celebrating the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s album, The Dark Side Of The Moon.

Dark Side, which will air on the August bank holiday, is a fantastical and psychedelic radio drama based on themes from the seminal album and stars a stellar cast which includes Bill Nighy, Rufus Sewell, and Adrian Scarborough. The lead roles will be played by Olivier Award-winning Iwan Rheon (Misfits) and stage actress Amaka Okafor (The Garbage King).
