My Number

Us is a directing duo consisting of Christopher Barrett and Luke Taylor. They met while studying at Kingston on the BA Graphic Design course. The duo’s first successful collaboration came whilst at university when directing a music video for Thom Yorke as part of the D&AD, it subsequently won first place.

In late 2007 they formed Us, a multi-disciplinary design studio. The focus since then has moved towards directing & moving image work. 2011 saw them receive the award for Best New Directors at the UK MVA’s and Best Urban video for ‘Numbers In Action’ which also received a MOBO nomination.

Afin d’illustrer le nouveau morceau de Foals ‘My Number’, le collectif We Are Us (Christopher Barrett et Luke Taylor) a eu l’excellente idée de créer un monde composé de points à relier en utilisant le motion capture pour modéliser le groupe. そんなアイディアを映像にした’My Number’という曲のPVです。曲の展開とともに線が走り、世界が形作られていきます。デジタルでありながら人が描いたような絵に見えます。イコライザーの様に、曲と共に動く線の動きもいいですね。モーションキャプチャーを使い、リアルに表現された世界が形作られていく様子は圧巻です。

O single My Number, uma das boas faixas do último disco lançado pelo Foals, Holy Fire, já havia sido mostradao pela TV e ganhado um clipe próprio sugerindo um show seu ao vivo. Agora a banda revela uma produção audiovisual alternativa para a tal canção.

Dirigido por Christopher Barrett e Luke Taylor, que formam o coletivo Us, o novo trabalho traz a banda sob um viés já conhecido popularmente. Adaptando a ideia do jogo Liga Pontos, o grupo apresenta sua faixa enquanto é revelado de acordo com os traços que vão os moldando.
