Believe it or not this simple wooden seat isn’t a rare Japanese antique from a pre-industrial time when samurai roamed the country causing mischief with their legendary swords. Nope, it’s a modern piece by Seo Young Moon designed to look like it’s been chopped down at the knees, only to remain standing as its defiant last act.

The Samurai Chair is just an optical illusion made possible by a clever bit of design. It’s as strong as any wooden chair you’re gonna find, able to support someone up to 330 pounds in weight like a couch-ridden Samurai who hasn’t been able to find work in the past 150 years.

Samurai chair is looks like a chair just being cut using a samurai sword and gonna fall shortly. Just like horror movie scenes, the chair seems to be separated after few seconds. Designer Seo Young Moo designed this chair and she proves that it is much stronger and it wont fall down by sitting and standing on the chair. So, you don’t have to think twice before sitting on this chair.

Seo Young Moon, jeune femme designer coréenne nous présente sa dernière création baptisée The Samurai Chair, une parfaite illusion d’optique où les quatre pieds ont été victime d’un véritable coup de katana.

En illusion et déstabilisation, le doute s’invite à chaque assise de l’utilisateur ne pouvant être certain de sa résistance. La créatrice nous assure cependant qu’il est capable de résister à des charges de plus de 330 kg.

来自韩国设计师Seo Young Moon的创意，武士椅（Samurai Chair），看上去就像是被愤怒的武士一刀劈过……—那是多么华丽的一刀，如划过夜空的闪电，将四条椅腿准确地断开，却又在滑开一半的时候凝固，让人很是纠结于是否要坐上去——但其实你是可以大摇大摆然后一屁股坐上去的，除非是《七宗罪》中的胖子，否则应该很少有人能一下把它坐烂的，毕竟，它可是能承重差不多150公斤的~

切れ味バツグンの腕前を持ったサムライの存在を感じさせてくれるSeo Young Moonさんの作品「Samurai Chair」。崩壊寸前に見えますが、なんと150kgの巨体が乗っても耐えられるという頑丈な椅子だそうです。

いきなり部屋にあったら、ちょっとびっくりしちゃいますね。平気だと言われても、毎回お尻のあたりを確かめながら、おそるおそる座ってしまいそうです。
