Matthieu Lavanchy was born in 1986 in Switzerland. After getting his photography degree from the ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) in 2008, he was awarded the “PhotoGlobal Prize” at the ITS festival in Trieste, Italy. The prize was a one year residency at the School of Visual Arts of New York. There, he pursued some personal works and started working on still life and set-related editorials for magazines such as Wallpaper*, PIN-UP or AnOther.

His work has been exhibited at the Prague Biennale (2011), the Art Cologne Fair (2010), and the Fotomuseum Winterthur (2009) among others.

Matthieu is the 2010 winner of the International Fashion & Photography Festival of Hyères, and received a Swiss Federal Design Award in 2011.

Matthieu Lavanchy was born in 1986 in Switzerland where he currently lives and works. In 2008-2009 he was an artist-in-residency at the School of Visual Arts through the Photo Global program for international participants. Before that he studied photography at University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL), and graduated with a bachelors degree. Most recently, Matthieu was awarded 1st prize in the Hyères festival 2010. Some of his clients include Wallpaper, PIN-UP magazine, Sang Bleu magazine and Novembre magazine.

Matthieu Lavanchy est né en 1986 en Suisse. Après avoir obtenu son BAC en photographie de L’ECAL (l’École Cantonale d’art de Lausane) en 2008, il gagne le prix PhotoGlobal au festival ITS à Triseste en Italie. Le prix est une résidence d’un an à la School of Visual Arts de New York. C’est là qu’il a commencé à travailler en arrangements et en construction de scènes surréalistes notamment pour Wallpaper*, PIN-UP et AnOther.
