Work: Mirror House at Copenhagen Central Park Danish-American architects MLRP in Copenhagen, has transformed an existing graffiti-plagued playground structure to an inviting and reflective pavilion as part of the new Interactive Playground Project in Copenhagen. Funhouse mirrors are mounted on the gabled ends of this playground pavilion in Copenhagen, as well as behind the doors. This engages a play with perspective, reflection and tranformation. Instead of a typical closed gable facade, the mirrored gables creates a sympathetic transition between built and landscape and reflects the surrounding park, playground and activity. Windows and doors are integrated in the wood-clad facade behind facade shutters with varied bent mirror panel effects. At night the shutters are closed making the building anonymous. During the day the building opens up, attracting the children who enjoy seeing themselves transformed in all directions. With simple means it has succeeded to transform an existing, sad and anonymous building to a unique and respectful installation in the newly renovated park. The roof and facade is clad with heat-modified wood and the gables and shutters are clad with mirror polished stainless steel. The Mirror House is a flexible space and restrooms, used by kindergarden classes. Forty percent of the energy consumption in the Western World is used by buildings, ninety nine percent from existing buildings, and only one percent from new buildings. This is why it is absolutely necessary to focus on transforming older, existing buildings into more sustainable structures, by upgrading insulation values, sun shading, heating, ventilation and lighting systems. Sustainability is also to renovate and transform, instead of demolishing (requiring energy and creating waste) which can be a more responsible solution than building new. Mirror House is an example of a successful transformation project for limited funds. The playground pavilion was run down by years of neglect and vandalism, but the masonry structure, roof and foundations were in good condition and therefore the building’s life could be extended. There were made slight modifications to the internal layout of the space. The building was thereafter upgraded with focus on effective installations, insulation and design. The roof slope was increased to conceal the new roof mounted installations and the existing roof membrane and downspouts, under the new building shell, continue their function. Finally it is clad with sustainable certified wood, Thermo Wood. Thermo Wood is heat modified, which toughens the wood increasing the wood’s longevity, and making it a good alternative to tropical or impregnated wood. The heating treatment reduces movement in the wood, which means less maintenance. Funhouse mirrors of polished stainless steel, mounted on the gabled ends, as well as behind the shutter doors. This engages a play with perspective, reflection and tranformation. Instead of a typical closed gabled facade, the mirrored gables creates a sympathetic transition between built and landscape and reflects the surrounding park, playground and activity. With simple means it has succeeded to transform a sad and anonymous building to a unique and respectful installation in the newly renovated park.

Descripción de los arquitectos. Los espejos están montados en los extremos de este pabellón y parque infantil en Copenague, así como detrás de sus puertas. Esto involucra un juego con la perspectiva, la reflexión y la tranformación. En lugar de la típica fachada de frontón cerrado, los frontones de espejo generan una transición entre lo construido y el paisaje, reflejando los alrededores del parque y el patio de juegos y actividades.
Las ventanas y puertas están integradas en la fachada revestida de madera, detrás de persianas con efectos también generados por paneles de espejo. Durante la noche las persianas se cierran haciendo que el edificio sea anónimo. Durante el día el edificio se abre, atrayendo a los niños que disfrutan de verse transformados en todas las direcciones.
Medios sencillos han logrado transformar un edificio existente, triste y anónimo en una instalación única y respetuosa con el parque recientemente renovado. El tejado y la fachada están revestidos con madera y las persianas están revestidas con acero inoxidable pulido, creando el efecto de los espejos.

仅仅使用简单的手段便成功的将一个地方变得如此有趣,独特,受人眷顾。屋顶和外墙是木材,山墙和门背后采用的是镜面不锈钢。镜之家是一个供孩子们使用的灵活场所和洗手间。

Centralni park u Kopenhagenu se nedavno transformisao tako što je na postojeće igralište u parku postavljena Mirror House. Kuća se nalazi na lokaciji Fælledparken u Kopenhagenu.
Prethodno prekrivena grafitima, struktura je pretvorena u interaktivnu formaciju koja poziva posetioce da intereaguju, reflektujući na svojoj površini aktivnosti koje se odvijaju u samom parku. Površina od ogledala stvara prirodan prelaz između izgrađenog i prirodnog okruženja.
Izdužene strane zgrade su obložene daskama od termički modifikovanog drveta, skrivajući niz prozora i vrata koji se mogu otvoriti da otkriju portale na toaletima i fleksibilnih prostora koje koriste vrtići. Objekat privlači decu s polja jer su u mogućnosti da vide svoje iskrivljene refleksije. Konkavne i konveksne komponente su formirane od ogledala-poliranog nerđajućeg čelika. Noću, vrata i paneli se zatvaraju.
Fasada paviljona oslikava prirodno okruženje parka i posetioce iskrivljene perspektive.

Mimarlık insanlara her ne kadar doluluklardan oluşan bir çevre sunsa da aslında yaptığı iş boşluklar tasarlanmaktır. Buradaki “boşluk tasarlama” meselesi kentte boş kalmış bir yeri doldurup geçme anlamında değil; sıradan bir boşluğa tasarımın gücüyle bir anlam kazandırılması halidir. O boşluğun bir tasarım problemi olarak ele alınması, çevrenin, insanların onun üzerinde ya da içinde yaşayacağı ihtimallerin o boşlukla birlikte düşünülmesi hali o boşluğun sıradanlığını elinden alır, onu başkalaştırır. Dışarıdan sadece bir doluluk olarak görünen ama içinde özenle kurulmuş başka bir boşluk böyle yaratılır. Mimarlık, anlamını yitirmiş boşlukları anlamlı başka boşluklara dönüştürerek kendi boşluğunu anlamlandırır.
Danimarkalı MLRP mimarlarının “Aynalı Ev” tasarımları tam da boşlukların anlamlandırılması üzerine bir tasarım olarak kendisini kuruyor. Mimarlar Kopenhag Central Parkında bir oyun pavyonu olarak bulunan boş bir yapıyı ele alıp onu başkalaştırarak çevresiyle ve insanlarla daha çok ilişkiye geçer hale getiriyorlar. Bunu yapabilmek için de yapıya dev aynalar eklemek gibi basit ama tutan bir numarayı kullanıyorlar. Sıradan bir boşluk ona eklenen aynalarla birden çevresindeki parkı, insanları gösteren ve bu şekilde görünür hale gelen bir boşluğa dönüşüyor. Burada aynaya bakmak kişiye kendisini, yaşadığı çevreyi aynalardan izlemek gibi basit ama oyalayıcı bir eylem oluyor; yapının sıradan boşluğu kendisini aynalarla hiçleştirerek, çevre üzerinden var ediyor.
“Aynalı Ev” aynalarının ardında, içinde çocuklar için çeşitli kullanımları sağlayacak esnek bir boşluk barındırıyor. Dinlenme, oyun oynama, ders çalışma gibi birçok eyleme cevap veren bu boşluk, sıradan oyun alanı tasarımlarının ötesinde durup, oyunu kuran değil, oyuna yer açan olmayı başarıyor.
İnsan en çok kendisini gördüğü görüntülere takılı kalır. Sokakta yürürken vitrinlerdeki teşhir nesnelerinden çok vitrin camına yansıyan siluetine bakması bu durumun en küçük göstergesidir. Ama bunun da ötesinde etrafında kendisini düşünmüş, dert etmiş ve o dert üzerinden şekillenmiş boşlukları görünce, asıl o zaman o boşluklarda takılı kalır. O boşlukların kendisiyle anlamlanacağını bilmek ona iyi gelir. Çünkü bu projede olduğu gibi o boşluklarda, aynadaki görüntüsünden de fazlasını, direkt kendisini bulur.
İnsanlara kendilerini gösteren bu projede ayna yalnızca bir ilgi çekme aracı olmanın ötesine geçmeyi başarıyor, çünkü aynanın sırlı kısmının arkasında tarif ettiği boşluğun esnekliği, aynadakinin de ötesindeki asıl görüntüyü kuran oluyor. Tam da insanların kendilerine dair aradıkları o parça görüntüyü bulmalarını sağlıyor. Bazen ayna hiçbir şeyi göstermese bile sırlı kısmı tüm sırları barındıran olabiliyor, tıpkı burada olduğu gibi.

Lo studio danese MLRP ha di recente trasformato un vecchio padiglione, nel parco del centro di Copenaghen, in una singolare “Casa degli Specchi”. E’ come trovarsi davanti agli specchi di Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie. Concavi e convessi, questi specchi sono stati montati sulle porte, che, lasciate aperte, all’interno del padiglione, creano un ambiente onirico, che deforma le figure, catapultando i visitatori in una dimensione fantastica. Anche l’esterno della casa, la cui struttura è quella tradizionale con tetto spiovente, ha due pareti di specchi. Il resto della costruzione è in legno scuro. Che riflettano un’attività dinamica o la natura del parco che li circonda, le superfici riflettenti creano una transizione tra l’ambiente costruito e quello naturale. I lati più lunghi della costruzione sono rivestiti con doghe in legno verniciate, che nascondono una serie di finestre e porte che possono essere aperte per rivelare servizi pubblici a disposizione dei bambini che visitano il parco. Di notte, persiane e pannelli possono essere chiusi per generare un esterno anonimo. La Mirror House fa parte del nuovo Interactive Playground Project, una serie di progetti volti a rinnovare i tanti parchi giochi disseminati per la città danese. Nell’opera del team di MLRP, il paesaggio e l’edificio si mescolano nel gioco di immagini riflesse e distorte, per divertire non solo i più piccoli, ma anche i più grandi.

В Копенгагене на территории Феллед (Fælledparken) парка, заложенного в 1906 году ландшафтным архитектором Эдвардом Глеселем и инженером О.К. Нобелем, расположился удивительный «Зеркальный дом» (Mirror House). Проект этого здания выполнила студия дизайна и архитектуры MLRP.
Архитекторы превратили заурядное типовое строение в ныне превлекательное место для взрослых и детей, задекорировав его зеркальными панелями.
Фронтоны из зеркала и нержавеющей полированной стали отражают окружающий здание парк и детскую площадку, создавая тем самым естественный переход между строением и ландшафтом. За встроенными в фасад дверями и окнами, оснаженными жалюзи, скрываются искривленные зеркальные панели, которые особенно привлекают детей. «Королевство кривых зеркал» на ночь закрывается ставнями.
Помещения «Зеркального дома» в основном используются для проведения детских мастер-классов и праздников..

Kienviet.net – Công viên trung tâm Copenhagen ở Đan Mạch vừa biến một rạp giải trí hiện có thành một nhà gương độc đáo được thiết kế bởi Công ty MLRP. Trước đây công trình này vốn được bao phủ bằng tranh vẽ nay được chuyển hoá thành một yếu tố tương tác trong không gian. Tuy nhiên, hiện nay công trình lại có một sự chú ý đặc biệt không phải vì những bức tranh vẽ lên tường, mà là những tấm gương ” ma thuật “ được thiết kế ở hai đầu hồi của công trình, thu hút sự tò mò của khách thăm quan.
Hai mặt chiều dọc của công trình được lát ván gỗ hóa nhiệt. Các cánh cửa được thiết kế theo dạng cửa xoay, với mặt trong là những mặt gương cong có thể xoay ngược ra ngoài thu hút trẻ em đến nhìn ngó bóng mình bị biến dạng trong gương. Các bề mặt lồi và lõm được tạo thành từ các tấm thép không rỉ đánh bóng. Về đêm, những cánh cửa này sẽ được khép lại, tạo cho ngôi nhà một dáng vẻ bí ẩn vô danh. Một không gian vô cùng độc đáo, đây sẽ là địa điểm giải trí của mọi người trong những ngày nghỉ, đặt biệt sẽ mang lại những tiếng cười sảng khoái của trẻ em, mỗi khi chúng ngắm mình trong gương.

في الدنامرك وخاصة كوبنهاغن رأت البلدية أن هناك ملعب قديم غير مستغل و مهمل و سعي منها لعدم ترك أى مكان مهمل أو غير مستغل في البلدة قامت بتجديد هذا الملعب و أطلقت علية “بيت المرآة” قامت شركة MLRP الرائدة في الهندسة بتصميم هذا البيت و تجديدة ليكون أكثر جاذبيه للسكان و ليعود المكان حوله مليئ بالحياة بدلا من الأهمال و السكون . و فور انتهاء هذا المشروع اصطف الزوار للإستمتاع بخدعة المرايا حيث تشعُر و كأنك واقف امام بيت المرأة داخل الملاهي الذي اعتدنا أن نقف امامها فنجد أنفسنا مرة كبار و مرة صغار و هكذا و قيل أن هذا الملعب من الممكن أن يستخدم كرياض للأطفال فيما بعد لما أصبح عليه من بهجة وجمال . أما عن تفاصيل هذا المبني فلقد تم تلبيسه من الجانبين بألواح من الخشب حيث تم إخفاء جميع النوافذ والأبواب ومن ثم تم تغطية الخشب بصفائح الفولاذ المصقولة المقاومة للصدأ و يمكن فتح فقط باب واحد المؤدي إلى دورات المياه .أما في الليل لحماية هذا المعلم الجديد يتم إغلاق الستائر المصنوعة من الالواح الخشبية.

Este pavilhão, da autoria dos arquitetos MLRP, pode ser encontrado no parque central de Copenhaga e foi construido no âmbito de um projeto que visa criar um parque infantil interativo na cidade. O edifício não só é impressionante, como parece oferecer muita diversão aos mais novos.

建筑的山墙以及门背都装有镜面,反射带来了有趣的视角,让古板封闭的山墙变成“镜之墙”,并创造了建筑与景观之间巧妙的过度,反映出园内的环境和活动。门与窗集成在木百叶结构中,背面装有弯曲镜面,夜晚关闭之后,建筑表面简洁统一,白天开启时,这些哈哈镜则非常吸引孩子们。
通过简单的手法,MLRP 事务所成功的改变了现状,创造了可以互动的独特建筑。Mirror House 的屋顶和外墙采用木质百叶,山墙则采用镜面不锈钢材质。建筑的用途是孩子们的洗手间。

Danish-American MLRP is a young and innovative design practice, who work with a variety of projects, both public and private, typically small to medium scale.
MLRP is owned by Mads Lund and Robert Paulsen, who have had their own practice together since 2004.
We are inspired by the site and surroundings, we always push the design until the ultimate solution is achieved. We enter a close dialogue with the client to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the process, where curiosity and innovation are decisive factors in developing the appropriate design.
We believe that it’s possible to make big statements with small scale projects, and we don’t think there’s a particular correlation between the scale and the quality of the project.
MLRP always produce original design solutions, exploring new materials and sustainable design.
Founding Partner Robert Warren Paulsen comes from a background as a projectleader and competition architect at established offices such as Vilhelm Lauritzen, Dissing & Weitling in Denmark and David Coleman and Henry Klein in the US. Robert creates a constant flow of original ideas under the conceptual development of the projects and ensures the projects realization with a intense focus on detail and craftsmanship, both in the office and on the building site.
Founding Partner Mads Hartvig Lund left the renound office PLOT in 2004 to start his own practice. Mads ensures the continual design development of the ever surprising and imaginary concepts. Mads turns every stone in the design process, to make sure that all parameters are considered and resolved from the beginning – context, size, spatial experiences and materials.
