In an age where the artist in some cases becomes more important than the art, a brand for her- or himself, using artworks mainly as tools for the marketing of a person, it is always interesting when an artist prefers to not reveal his identity, to stay anonymous. Even more so, if the artist in question is some sort of 21st century Mucha, posting on his Tumblr FFO Art artworks that, in blending Art Nouveau, Baroque and anatomy text book illustrations with a dash of 60s pin-ups, are both intriguing to look at and simply decorative.
And just in line with the choice to stay anonymous, he humbly states, when asked about his inspiration: “I know it’s lame, but all i do is sitting on the sidelines. I’m just a stalker.” Which does not mean, that he is completly devoid of an attitude towards the world and people he is watching:
“I’m not afraid of weird things or “wrong” people, of thinking out of the box and breaking the rules. We’re only here briefly and while I’m here I wan’t to enjoy things that are beautiful for me. I don’t care if it’s for me only and other people find it disgusting, i just follow my heart and living my own life.”

This anonymous artist combines textbook science imagery with an Art Nouveau style with to achieve a strangely romantic look at the human form. FFO Art gives us little information about who he or she is but responds actively to Q and A’s if you become curious to know more. I will leave you with the quote which can be found atop the artist’s page: “Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head? Of course it is happening inside of your head, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?”.
