Somewhere between Moon, The Fifth Element, Tintin: Destination Moon and 2001: A Space Odyssey sits Eclipse, a brand new piece of animation from Gobelins students (yes, students) Theo Guignard, Noé Lecombre and Hugo Moreno. It’s got all the classic sci-fi staples – eerie soundtrack, mysterious evil/benign paranormal entity, barren lunar landscape – and it’s drawn in a style evocative of the classic cartoon greats. That’s all the information we’re prepared to supply for fear of ruining the experience of this perfectly-paced, beautifully atmospheric animation.

If you think you’re too busy to stop for four minutes and immerse yourself in some sci-fi this afternoon then you better get your priorities in order. You’re wrong, this is great, you NEED to watch it.

No curta Eclipse, dois cientistas estão analisando o terreno de um planeta distante, até que um eclipse lunar faz gerar uma força magnética extraordinária que atrai os corpos em direção à lua. Eclipse foi dirigido por Theo Guignard, Noé Lecombre e Hugo Moreno. A animação é muito bem feita e os três criadores são estudantes da Gobelins School of Image, de Paris.

Em Everything I can see from here (Tudo o que eu consigo ver daqui), dois homens sobem uma colina para observar a cidade, enquanto o mais jovem de forma displicente joga bola, o outro apenas observa. A chegada de um terceiro elemento, não convidado causa muito deconforto. A direção dessa animação é de Sam Taylor e Bjorn Aschim. A animação é bem recente (2013) e vem do Reino Unido.
