Paula Gaetano Adi (born in San Juan, Argentina) is an artist and researcher working in sculpture, performance, interactive installations and robotic agents. Using the human and non-human body as a point of departure, her work deals with different cultural studies of technoscience, particularly in regard to how its discursive effects and affects are inscribed in human subjectivity and how they can be reflected through art. Her work have been presented internationally in venues such as the National Art Museum of China (Beijing), MejanLabs (Stockholm), ARCO Fair (Madrid), FILE Festival (Sao Paulo), BIOS4 (Sevilla), National Museum of Poznan (Ponznan), BrandenburgerTor Foundation (Berlin), Museum of Modern Art (Buenos Aires), Festival Transitio_MX (Mexico City), Espacio Fundación Telefónica (Buenos Aires), Re-New Fetival (Copenhagen), among others locates.
She was the recipient of the First Prize VIDA 9.0, the international competition on Art & Artificial life – Fundación Telefónica, and the First Prize ‘LIMBØ’- Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. She has received different grants and awards including San Juan Bank Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación Argentina, Blas Pascal University, Ohio State University Presidential Fellowship, the Fergus Memorial Award both in 2009 and 2010, and the 2012 “Artistic production Incentive Grant for Ibero-American Artists” awarded by VIDA 14.0. Gaetano Adi received a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Blas Pascal University in Argentina and a postgraduate degree in New Media Arts from the same university. She holds a Master in Fine Arts with emphasis in Art & Technology, from The Ohio State University. Currently she is Assistant Professor of Studio Art at the University of North Texas, College of Visual Arts and Design, where she coordinates the New Media Area. Also at UNT she has recently joined (iARTA) the Initiative for Advanced Research in Technology and the Arts.

Née en Argentine, Paula Gaetano Adi est artiste et chercheure dans les domaines de la sculpture, de la performance, et des installations interactives et robotiques. Elle utilise le corps humain et non humain comme point de départ de ses recherches, et s’intéresse aux effets discursifs et aux impacts affectifs des technosciences sur la subjectivité humaine et dans l’art. Ses œuvres ont été présentées sur la scène internationale à Beijing, Berlin, Madrid, Moscou, Stockholm, São Paulo, New York, Poznan et Buenos Aires, entre autres. Elle a reçu de nombreux prix et bourses, tels que le premier prix à la compétition VIDA 9.0 sur l’art et la vie artificielle, organisée par la Fundación Telefónica, et le premier prix LIMbØ du Musée d’art moderne de Buenos Aires, la bourse Fergus Memorial en 2009 et 2010 de même que la bourse accordée à un artiste ibéro-américain dans le cadre de la compétition VIDA 14.0. À l’heure actuelle, Paula Gaetano Adi est professeure adjointe dans le programme de Studio Art du College of Visual Arts and Design de l’Université de North Texas, où elle coordonne le secteur réservé aux nouveaux médias. À cette université, elle s’est également jointe au groupe Initiative for Advanced Research in Technology and the Arts (iARTA).
