Digital Studies Symposium presents Alessandro Marianantoni and Marcos Lutyens. Alessandro Marianantoni works on technology for cultural, environmental and social fields with a multi-disciplinary approach. While based in Los Angeles he often travels to Italy where, with public funding, he started MEDIARS, an Experimental Center focused on Cultural Heritage and Technology. The center develops events and hosts the international summer program Art, Technology and Cultural Heritage in the Castle of Contigliano with scholars from both the local and the international community. Over the last 14 years he has designed and developed innovative products for music, healthcare and environment.
Marcos Lutyens is an internationally exhibited artist who has been exploring various media and themes related to the preconscious for various years. He has shown in galleries and museums in numerous countries around the world, as well as lectured, held performances and workshops in many internationally recognized venues. He has received grants from the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department and the Durfee Foundation.
