Born in 1986 in Minnesota, USA, Shahira is an architect currently based in Alexandria, Egypt. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Applied Arts, dieAngewandte, Vienna where she graduated with distinction in 2012. In 2008, Shahira received a bachelor’s degree in architecture with honors from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in Alexandria (RIBA Part 1) and was awarded by the World Architecture community for her thesis project. She has worked at firms in Egypt where she is licensed and in 2013 she taught at Pharos University in Alexandria. Her work has been exhibited globally and published widely in international magazines and blogs including evolo, designboom, suckerpunch, among others.
