french artist vincent leroy has realized a kinetic piece for remy martin called ‘red ripples’. the artwork is comprised of an aluminum frame with a 1.10 diameter mirror that moves thanks to an electric engine. the work reflects on the slowness and the decomposition of movement through its delicate motion. the circular mirror has been laser-cut into ten concentric rings that slice the reflections into a sophisticated and contemplative game of color between the front and back of the object.

vincent leroy’s latest creation has motivated the design of the new packaging of one million bottles of cognac that will be distributed worldwide in the next months. the process has drawn in a close collaboration with servairandco—a design and packaging company. the result mixes contemporary art with tradition, blending the works of the artist and the cellar master. the pieces will travel soon for them to be discovered by a wide public who will be able to contemplate both the cognac’s new face and the kinetic sculptures.
