Particle Waves
“Particle Waves” is a kinetic sound sculpture comprising of a 4×3 grid of 12 individual kinetic bowls. Within each bowl contains tiny metal beads of various sizes, creating “noises“ as the bowl rotates in various angles. The noise from a single bowl forms collectively to become a soundscape, reminding us of waves and oceans. The bowls are arranged in a 4×3 grid and controlled as a whole by a microcontroller running a wave algorithm. This creates a continuous wave-like kinetic motion over the grid, at the same time creating a spatialized soundscape. This installation is a continuous attempt of exploring the correlation between sound and nature.

Symphonie Cinétique

The exhibition project focuses mainly on the cor­relation and inter­action of three elements: reflection, sound and movement. Symphonie Cinétique narratively inter­relates the three elements, and brings out their inherent, almost mystic harmony. The result of this process is an artistic synthesis, a unique spatial experience. At the premiere, Arnalds performed the Symphonie Cinétique live on piano and tablet. This fascinating interplay between music, light and movement served as a prelude to the exhibition.

Yuca easy chair
It looks like a spatial sculpture, at once experimental and inviting, rotatable and completely covered. The YUCA easy chair is reminiscent of a softly rounded cup of petals, appearing to grow out of thin air. It stands on a metal X-shaped base which is chrome-plated or lacquered. The result is a perfect shape brimming with flexibility and seating comfort.

Plane

Plane est un projet in situ présenté en avant première à la galerie Plateforme à l’occasion de son annuelle “Vitrine hivernale”.
Dans la galerie, une lumière est projetée sur les murs. Unique médium d’une scénographie mouvante, la lumière dévoile l’architecture du lieu par le biais d’aplats hétérogènes.Selon un jeu d’agencement entre les différentes parties murales, ces aplats de lumière progressent tour à tour lentement et en synchronisation, sans lien apparent entre eux.Il suffit alors de se placer sur un point précis situé en dehors de la galerie pour voir se matérialiser un espace plan virtuel de forme rectangulaire.Basé sur la technique de l’anamorphose, le déploiement de cet espace plan lumineux “flottant” altère la perception spatiale de la galerie.A cette première illusion d’optique, vient s’ajouter sur la vitrine une mise en abyme de l’espace environnant : le spectateur pourra voir que le rectangle blanc, formé à partir d’aplats hétérogènes des murs de la galerie, n’est autre que le tracé virtuel du reflet des immeubles d’en face…Intérieur / extérieur, l’espace est totalement décomposé, instaurant, au delà du doute, plusieurs niveaux de lecture sur la nature des objets et la perception que nous en avons.
