1024 architecture: Pierre Schneider & François Wunshel
Abstract:
The art-technology exhibition of FILE São Paulo 2013 brings the new interactive work by the famous 1024 architecture group to be presented on the gigantic LED panel of FIESP building on Paulista Avenue. People could change the images on the panel through their voices or by humming a song.
The 1024 architecture group created the “interactive LED” digital graphic project for the Paulista Avenue, which will be presented from July 22 through August 18, 2013. The project consists of a podium with a microphone installed on the sidewalk of the Paulista Avenue, where people could interact through the vocal conversion into musical notes. The 1024 architecture group elaborated a brand new algorithm for this project, which changes the graphic behaviors by means of sounds. Depending on the note sung, several parameters of the program, such as colors, shapes, density, and rhythms (squares, circles, stripes, etc.), will change.
Biography:
Founded in 2008 by Pierre Schneider (born in 1977) and François Wunshel (born in 1978), both educated at the Strasbourg School of Architecture, 1024 is the fruit of the desire to make the constructed world and the virtual world communicate to offer an enhanced vision of architecture. A new architectural adventure, emblematic of an era in full digital revolution which united these two a priori identical profiles to create a completely new entity. Architects producing video performances or designers building temporary buildings, the duo runs counter to the rules of a profession being perpetually redefined, going as far as producing and marketing their own software, MadMapper.

A exposição do FILE SP 2013 traz o trabalho inédito e interativo do grupo 1024 architecture para ser apresentado no gigantesco painel de LED da avenida Paulista, no prédio da FIESP. As pessoas poderão modificar as imagens do painel através da sua voz ou do cantarolar de uma música. O algoritmo inédito deste projeto altera os comportamentos gráficos por meio do som. Dependendo da nota cantada, vários parâmetros do programa, como cores, formas, densidade e ritmos (quadrados, círculos, listras etc.) mudarão.

關於1024 architecture

1024 architecture是由Pierre Schneider與François Wunshel於2008年成立，兩人曾共同在Strasbourg建築學院接受教育。創立1024 architecture源於：「希望讓這個被建構的世界與虛擬的世界互相交流，進而拓展建築視野。」

兩人一畢業，隨即與其他三位建築師共同創立了EXYZT，一起設計與建造出一系列可供人居住的臨時性建築裝置。2007年，兩人為法國音樂家Etienne de Crecy製作了一個叫做SQUARE Cube的設備。這次合作案使他們的個人生涯有了轉變，1024就此成立。1024代表兩人所製作並投射在SQUARE Cube上的影像：512×512像素。一段全新的建築旅程於焉展開，同時象徵了數位革命時代已然來臨。

1024 Architecture es un colectivo Francés que nace en el año 2008 de la mano de los arquitectos Pierre Schneider y François Wunshel. Sus trabajos conciben una realidad desmaterializada en el que lo virtual (performances, videoinstalaciones, mapping o juegos de luces) se entremezclan con el uso de materiales sin tratar y estandarizados.
