Os livros são a base do trabalho da artista coreana Airan Kang. E a gente não está falando da inspiração, não. É que ela usa as publicações como sua principal matéria-prima.

Airan os transforma em móveis e luminárias que são puro objeto de desejo. Como seus “Livros Luminosos”, por exemplo. Feitos em resina sintética, eles incorporam diodos luminosos, os famosos LEDs, tanto na capa como em suas páginas internas. Têm uma estética linda e dão uma nova dimensão aos chamados livros coffee table.

Ela, que já criou mais de 200 esculturas com livros, expôs suas instalações na Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery, em Nova York, no Vangi Museum, no Japão e na One Interview Gallery, em Seul. Fala sério, não é um sonho ter uma biblioteca – organizada e iluminada deste jeito – em casa?

De Zuid-Koreaanse kunstenaar Airan Kang verandert gewone boeken in lichtgevende kunstwerken.

Aan bestaande boeken voegt Kang een combinatie van doorzichtige hars, verf en LED-lampjes toe. De boeken krijgen als het ware een doorschijnende kaft waar licht in is verwerkt. Op deze manier benadrukt Kang bijvoorbeeld de contouren van het boek of juist de afbeelding of typografie op de kast.

Als je video onder dit bericht bekijkt zie je dat de kunstwerken niet statisch zijn maar ook van bijvoorbeeld kleur kunnen veranderen. Vooral een plank of kast vol met deze boeken is dan erg mooi om te zien. De kunstwerken van Airan Kang zijn te koop via artnet.

Уметникот Airan Kang, кој потекнува од Северна Кореја, создава неверојатни реплики на книжевни корици кои многу се разликуваат од класичните. Тој користи проѕирна смола и лед-диоди, кои се доработени со текст и апликации, резултирајќи со несекојдневен, светлечки изглед на книгите.
