プロダクトデザインを専攻したボスニアヘルツェゴビナ出身のデザイナーAmila Hrusti?氏は、様々な幾何学模様をあしらった服のコレクションを発表した。
「プラトン・コレクション」は、四面体、六面体、八面体、十二面体、二十面体から成るプラトンの立体をヒントにしたもので、紙で作られた立体が様々な配列で服の生地に張り付けられている。
Hrusti?’s氏はサラエボのAcademy for Fine Artsでプロダクトデザインを専攻した卒業生で、このコレクションは卒業作品である。
「プラトン・コレクション」と名付けられたこの卒業作品は、プラトンの立体をヒントに制作されました。このコレクションは、繊維と紙を手で張り合わせた5種類のユニークな服で構成されています。
偉大な古代ギリシャの哲学者であるプラトンは、いわゆる「プラトンの立体」を研究しました。誰が最初にこれらの形を思いついたか知る由もありません。古代ピタゴラス学派の人たちであるという説がある一方で、ユークリッドなど一部の学者は、プラトンの親友であるテアイテトスであると述べています。 プラトンの立体は四面体、六面体、八面体、十二面体、二十面体の5種類で構成されています。この卒業作品では、幾何学的に配列された立体空間の概念を人の体との関係の中で検証しています。これは知覚と対比の検証であり、人工と自然、さらに定形と無定形の関係の追及という言い方が最も適切かも知れません。プラトンの立体は、服を制作する上での基本的な構成要素になっています。
このコレクションのシンプル形と丈夫な紙に描かれた黒白の模様によって、人体と立体が空間で作り出す彫刻のような表情が強調されます。それゆえ、「プラトン・コレクション」は、日常のファッションという範疇には属さない舞台衣装としての性質が強く、高度な美的センスが要求される舞台芸術やファッションショーなどの特殊な目的のためにデザインされています。

The title of this diploma project is “Plato’s Collection” and the main inspiration for the entire Collection is located in Platonic solids. The collection is consists of five unique dresses handcrafted from a combination of textiles and paper.
Great Greek philosopher, studied what we now call “Platonic solids”. No one knows who first described the shapes of these bodies, perhaps early Pythagoreans, but some, including Euclid, say that it was a close friend of Plato’s Theaetetus. There are only five Platonic solids: tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron. This diploma project examines the concept of geometrically arranged and structured space in relation to the human body. It is the most appropriate to call it a study of perception and contrast, and study of relationship between artificial and organic, amorphous and geometric. Each of the five Platonic solids is a basic building element for making dresses.
Simplicity of form and use of black and white print patterns on rigid paper emphasize the sculptural collection, its attitude toward the body and overall expression in space. Therefore, Plato’s collection does not fit into the category of everyday fashion and can be considered as a stage costume, and is intended for high-aesthetic stage performances, fashion editorials and other special purposes. Product design graduate Amila Hrustić of Bosnia and Herzegovina has created a collection of dresses embellished with clustered geometric shapes. The Plato Collection is inspired by the five different Platonic solids – tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron, which are recreated in paper and attached to fabric in different configurations. Hrustić’s has just graduated in product design at the Academy for Fine Arts in Sarajevo and the collection was her diploma project.

Cuando veo un patrón de moda, esos papeles finos con las piezas dibujadas; mapas que esconden los secretos para hacer una prenda de cualquier talla, recuerdo las prácticas de geometría del primer curso de la escuela de arquitectura. Papel sulfurizado en tamaño a1 expandido con intersecciones de figuras geométricas y cálculos de sus sombras sobre un plano.
La moda también mira a la geometría, a la arquitectura y no se sirve de ella simplemente en los estampados, la observa para tomar de ella la tercera dimensión, el volumen y que así también pueda generar sombras y jugar con la luz.

Projekt dyplomowy The Plato Collection to połączenie w różnych konfiguracjach brył takich jak sześciany, dwunastościany czy dwudziestościany wykonanych z papieru oraz tkanin.

O título deste projeto de Amila Hrust é “The Plato Collection”. A inspiração para a coleção veio dos sólidos platônicos (tetraedro, cubo, octaedro, dodecaedro e o icosaedro. ). A coleção é composta por cinco vestidos exclusivos, feitos a partir de uma combinação de tecido e papel. Um estudo da percepção e o contraste da relação entre o artificial e o orgânico, o amorfo e o geométrico.
