Benjamin Hubert, jeune designer anglais, ne passe définitivement plus inaperçu. Né en 1984, il a étudié à l’université de Loughborough. En 2006, son projet de fin d’études « Puff out lights » remporte de nombreux et prestigieux prix. Il fonde son propre studio à Londres en 2007 : luminaire, mobilier, agencement d’espace, accessoires, il n’y a pas de limite à son imagination et Benjamin travaille en coopération avec les plus grands acteurs du design d’Europe et d’Asie. Depuis, il n’a cessé d’accumulé distinctions et récompenses, dont le Design of the Year (British Design Awards 2009) ou l’EDIDA (Elle) International Young Designer of the Year 2010 : bien peu ont accompli autant en si peu de temps, avant même d’atteindre l’âge de 25 ans !
Ce jeune prodige est fasciné par les matériaux comme la céramique, le bois ou le liège, toujours curieux de trouver de nouvelles solutions et de nouveaux matériaux, s’arrêtant souvent pour sentir la texture d’un meuble ou de sentir le poids d’un vase ancien. Pour lui, la création se doit d’être innovante en termes d’esthétisme, de fonctionnalité ou de matériaux. Benjamin a l’ambition d’amener du bonheur avec ses productions, nul doute que beaucoup d’autres sourires vont naître grâce à ses mains ! Ainsi sa collection design de suspensions Spinning inspirée des toupies qui ont tant réjoui les années d’enfance, est une décoration pleine de gaité et de bonne humeur pour la maison.

Internationally acclaimed designer Benjamin Hubert founded his eponymous studio in 2009 in North East London. After Graduating from Industrial Design and Technology at Loughborough University Benjamin gained experience in several renowned design consultancies including Seymour Powell, DCA and Tangerine before establishing his own design studio.

A diverse wealth of knowledge was acquired in this period working with multinational brands including Nike, Samsung, LG, Mamas and Papas, Coca Cola and Eurostar.

Benjamin Hubert now leads a dedicated team of industrial designers working across a broad range of sectors including furniture, lighting, consumer goods, architectural installations and art direction. Benjamin Hubert works internationally in a variety of markets including Europe, Asia, Australia, Brazil and the US.

The studio works to the ideals of ‘Materials Driven. Process Led. Industrial Design’ focusing on the research of construction, context and application of new materials.

Benjamin Hubert has received international critical and media acclaim and has been exhibited internationally. The studio has also received a number of prestigious awards including: Design of the year (British Design awards 2010) Best Product (100% design/Blueprint awards 2009) Homes and Gardens Young Designer of the Year (Design Classic Awards 2010) EDIDA International Young Designer of the Year 2010, the A+W Audi Mentorpreis 2012 and the winning commission for Poltrona Frau Centenary armchair.

Бенджамина Хьюберта можно отнести к дизайнерам, с нестандартным мышлением, ведь известность к нему пришла именно потому, что он использует нестандартный подход к дизайну предметов. Наибольший интерес для него представляет дизайн осветительных приборов и кресел, рассуждения о них приносят ему радость.

Главное, что отличает этого лондонского дизайнера от целой армии специалистов этого профиля, это то, что он применяет в дизайне одного предмета совершенно, на первый взгляд, несочетающиеся материалы. нестандартно и изящно, и при этом дают мягкий свет.

Бенджамин Хьюберт окончил университет Лонгборо, который находится в Англии, но уже сейчас он является автором многих статей о дизайне, а также неоднократно становился участником различных международных выставок, что не может не отразиться на его дальнейших работах. Бенджамина больше всего привлекает работа над проектами аксессуаров и вещей предназначенных для дома и офиса. Из материалов Бенджамин отдает предпочтение керамике и пластику. Работы английского дизайнера всегда полны неожиданности и оригинальности.
