Usando um tipo de resina sintética semelhante a um plástico liso, o artista coreano Bhac Ji-Ho produziu uma série de esculturas alucinantes. Suas obras intrigantes e não convencionais brincam com as formas e perspectivas múltiplas de um mesmo rosto genérico. Cada uma das peças são uma espécie de auto-retrato do espectador.

Suas criações estão abertas a interpretação. Trata-se mais de um exercício de autopercepção, para isso o artista cria ilusões de perspectiva que atribuem um caráter de pluralidade em cada obra.

О корейском скульпторе Бхаке Джи-Хо (Bhac Ji-Ho) изестно не так много за границами Кореи, хотя на его родине периодически проходят его персональные выставки. Его последние работы – странные психоделические бюсты, сделанные из особой синтетической резины. Этот материал хорошо тянется, что делает все предметы очень пластичными по своей текстуре и легкими для деформации. Одинаковые безэмоциональные и безмолвные лица – срезанные посередине, растянутые, размноженные, искаженные – намекают на скульптуры сюрреалистов и производят по-настоящему гнетущее впечатление.

Using a unique synthetic resin, Korean artist Bhac Ji-Ho has produced an intriguing collection of figurative sculptures that play with shape, form, and color. The eye-catching works present multiple perspectives of one face in unconventional compositions. Each piece is a sort of self-portrait that takes an interpretive look at identity and how one sees themselves.

The sculptor’s creations vary from featuring five faces on one model to a deceptive figure with less than half a face when viewed from the front. It is as much about self-perception as it is about societal perspective, leaving one to question what the artist is truly seeking to convey with his work. How one interprets each individual piece is left entirely up to the viewer.

Bak Ji Ho is an artist that works on sculptures representing South Korea. Information behind his modern collection is hard to come by but his work respectively seems to be presented in a different dimension. A smooth plastic like surface molds his unique synthetic resin. Behold.
