Chie Aoki’s sculptures are very mysterious and so is the artist. There’s a complete loss of identity in the glistening black faceless forms. Aoki is an exception to the rule that an artist has to have information, a website, and gallery exhibitions that are available to peruse online, instead there is hardly a trace of the artist’s identity available the web. This unusual lack of a significant online presence seems to continue the underlying theme of these beautiful sculptures; that they are a mystery and the work speaks itself.

Juzgando por esta serie surrealista de esculturas, Chie Aoki es un artista con una imaginación infinita. Chie Aoki ha creado una colección de las esculturas que son sumamente memorables. Esta serie abraza el tema de metamorfosis – o la transformación de figuras en algo más. Aunque la metamorfosis el más comúnmente sea relacionada con mariposas, estas esculturas no son definitivamente frívolas. Cada uno representa a la mitad inferior de un ser humano, que comienza alrededor de su pelvis, la figura comienza morphing en una criatura parecida a una gota o el gusano.

Η σουρεαλίστρια γλύπτρια από την Ιαπωνία Chie Aoki δημιουργεί ανατρεπτικά σώματα. Η 30χρονη καλλιτέχνις, απόφοιτη του Kanazawa College of Art δημιουργεί τη συγκεκριμένη σειρά έργων τέχνης και της δίνει το όνομα “trasforming bodies” αφήνοντας τους πάντες να αναρωτιούνται σε τι ακριβώς μετατρέπονται… Παρ’όλα αυτά μας αρέσει πολύ!
