FEMKE AGEMA

Femke Agema is one of the biggest designers from Fashionclash. Many people in the audience were laughing because of the funny and very unusual creations. Her collection is a way of art, with a lot of cane materials. The head and the chest were frequently covered with big materials as cane, wood or fabrics. We saw brown, orange and white colors, with some wooden necklaces which looked like ladders.

Amsterdam based fashion designer Femke Agema used totem poles as a starting point for latest collections, Totem, general direction of inspiration. The Totem project was exhibit at Moooi Gallery in Amsterdam until the end of August. Below you will also find pieces of her past collections, very eccentric and animated.

Femke likes to play. For her ‘Totem’ project she started by making textile installations inspired on totem poles which she used as a starting point for the clothing collection. The general inspiration for theproject are the cropped and edited images that people have of each other because of social networking sites and the shift this has led to in ‘real’ human relationships.

Lovely work from Amsterdam based fashion designer Femke Agema and her latest project Totem. Using totem poles as a starting point for the collection the general inspiration for the project came from the cropped and edited images that people use for social networking sites and the shift this has led to in ‘real’ human relationships.
