You wake up half-sleepy, thinking of the many things that await you throughout the day. It is early and a bit cloudy. It looks like it’s going to rain. After taking a shower, you make yourself a hot coffee; you pour it into a mug and right before your eyes there appears —a cat!

“Chesire cat?” You ask yourself, like a modern-day Alice. “Can you please tell me which way I need to go from here?” “That depends on where you want to go!”

These wonderful bowls could have been part of the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and it is because it looks like any other bowl. But something happens when these pieces are filled up and magically, an animal appears and disappears as its content rises or diminishes.

This creation is the work of Géraldine de Beco, a young French designer who graduated from the ENSCI (École nationale supérieure de création industrielle) and from Sciences Po, who signs her first collaboration here with the company Bernardaud, dedicated to the production of Limoges porcelain.

They are designed with a 3D computer program and feature a complex double wall technique that makes the relief effect possible only in the inside and the outside part is like any other normal bowl. This technique, aside from its aesthetic effect, is also very functional as it forms an isolating camera in the interior that allows us to hold the bowl without getting burned.

The Cat, the Bird and the Wolf form this endearing collection that livens up any breakfast, no matter how early it is, and will delight both young and old.

The downside is its price—240€ each—but we must not forget that it is made from genuine Limoges porcelain!

Te levantas aún medio dormida, pensando en tantas tareas que te esperan a lo largo del día, es temprano y vaya, está nublado, parece que va a llover. Tras una ducha, te preparas un café caliente, lo viertes en un tazón y ante tus ojos aparece nada más y nada menos que un gato.

—Gato de Cheshire…, te preguntas, como una moderna Alicia, ¿Me podrías indicar, por favor, hacia donde tengo que ir desde aquí? —Eso depende de adónde quieras llegar!

Estos maravillosos cuencos bien podrían haber formado parte de la fiesta del té del Sombrerero Loco, y es que pueden parecer un bol cualquiera, pero algo ocurre cuando estas piezas se llenan para hacer que mágicamente surja un animal que aparece y desaparece según su contenido aumenta o disminuye.

La creación es obra de Géraldine de Beco, una joven diseñadora francesa diplomada por la Ensci (Escuela Nacional Superior de Sreación Industrial) y por el Sciences Po, que firma aquí su primera colaboración con la empresa Bernardaud, dedicada a la producción de porcelana de Limoges.

Están diseñados con un programa informático en 3D, e incorporan una compleja técnica de doble pared que hace posible que el efecto de relieve sólo se manifieste en el interior y el exterior se asemeje a un bol normal y corriente. Esta técnica, aparte del efecto estético, tiene una función de gran utilidad, pues forma una cámara aislante en el interior que permite que podamos sujetar el cuenco sin quemarnos.

El Gato, el Pájaro y el Lobo forman esta entrañable colección capaz de animar cualquier desayuno, por temprano que sea, y hará las delicias de grandes y pequeños.

La única pega, su precio, 240 € por unidad, pero no olvidemos que están fabricados en genuina porcelana de Limoges!

Na pomsył wyjątkowych misek wpadła francuska projektantka Geraldine de Beco. Na pierwszy rzut oka wydają się całkiem zwyczajne. Jednak po napełnieniu ich płynem (najlepiej nie przeźroczystym), naszym oczom ukazują się różne zwierzaki.

Jest to idealne rozwiązanie dla tych, którym znudziło się codzienne zaglądanie w zwykłą miskę np. podczas jedzenia płatków śniadaniowych.
