Work: Six drummers participate in a well planned musical attack in the suburbs. As an elderly couple leave their apartment the drummers take over. On everyday objects they give a concert in four movements: Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom and Livingroom.
Nominated for a Palme d’Or in Cannes 2001 and recipient of some 30 international awards. The also multi awarded spin-off feature film Sound of Noise featuring the same cast and concept premiered in Cannes 2010. Swedish childhood friends Johannes Stjärne Nilsson and Ola Simonsson have directed and produced some 20 shorts and documentaries since the late 90’s and their art has been widely represented in both the international film community and the art world. “Johannes Stjärne Nilsson and Ola Simonsson has developed a unique style dominated by an ironical attitude towards the grotesqueness of modern life and the mechanical nature of the human everyday life. The outstanding technical accuracy of their films is used as an artistic manner to give small life incidents great cosmic significance.” – Underground Spirit Award 2011, Palic Film Festival.

Dalla patria di Ikea, un corto musicale orientato agli oggetti… di mobilia.
“Sei percussionisti partecipano ad un ben congegnato attacco musicale. Quando un’attempata coppia lascia l’appartamento il piano scatta. Usando oggetti ordinari, i sei danno un concerto in quattro movimenti: cucina, camera da letto, bagno e soggiorno. Il gruppo esegue i pezzi usando di tutto: dalle pantofole, agli spazzolini da denti, al forno a microonde. La musica nascosta negli oggetti di casa aspetta solo di esser portata alla vita.”

Il film e’ opera di un duo svedese, Johannes Stjärne Nilsson ed Ola Simonsson, membri di Kostr Films, un compagnia di produzione indipendente che si occupa di corti, documentari e film, cosi’ come di produzione musicale e progetti artistici.

Johannes Stjärne Nilsson ha un Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in design industriale ed e’ anche vignettista ed illustratore.

Ola Simonsson ha un Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in educazione musicale come insegnante ed e’ anche cantante e musicista.
