In Cologne’s Night of Museums 2014, Kalypso created NEGUA as a live event for the Quartier am Hafen.
The exhibition space was transformed into an organic cell chamber by Philipp Dreber, who crafted a giant hexagonal cloth pattern holding 333 white balloons.
The visitors were photographed by Alessandro DeMatteis right at the entrance. Often hours later, they returned from surfing the house and entered the Negua cell chamber in bewilderment of meeting their own eyes lurking around.
Finalizing the event, ‘Mr. Shirazy and the exile orchstra’ joined in for concert to the live coding performance of visual artist Michael Baumann, aka blausand. Learning algorithms like cellular automata and three-dimensional shaders, NEGUA’s language evolved.
