Hila Kaminer is a jewelry and fashion accessories designer and the founder of Kaminer Design.
Graduated of Bachelor of Design degree from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Ramat-Gan, Israel, after completing four years of jewelry design studies during which, she was awarded a Merit-based scholarship, 3 times.
Kaminer Jewelry Design is characterized by its clean aesthetics. The designer applies a natural touch through a delicate inspection of materials and by combining classic crafting methods with advanced technologies, creates forms that are both organic and mechanic at the same time. The main feature of her work is in committing to the form and its elements and the selection of the right materials to bear the design. Merging materials such as Gold, Silver, Brass, Wood, Alpaca fabric, Textiles and Gems play with textures and shades, reveals emotions yet maintaining a tight form.
The designer’s passion is in creating unusual-commercial items as well as crafting stage and runway items, unique objects that’s provoking statues quo and stimulate emotions; the solidness of wood versus the fragility of paper; the sharpness of metals against the elasticity of plastic and the flexibility of fabric decorated with stiff solid gems.
Rough and soft,
Polished and uneven,
Smooth and coarse,
Meticulous yet free.
A word from the artist:
For years I was attracted to jewelry design. My creative urge grew and I was curious to learn art and design, to gain knowledge on new technologies and experiment on different materials. After years of studying privately and working on various projects I arrived to Shenkar. Studying in Shenkar has opened new creative channels within me and amplified my desire to grow as a designer. During my studies I continued working in the industry creating fashion jewelry and luxury items. I intend to maintain the integrity of my designs and remain loyal to my artistic directions.

OSSOMATERIA
The name of the project is derived from Italian, meaning ‘bone-matter’, the material of essence. The very base of humanity, our body and its unique structure, inspired me to explore the inner architecture of our physical vessel, the shapes and meaning of the internal organs and led me to create pieces in their image. The outer body distinguish one person from the other, however, the inner body is shaped and structured similarly, making us all, by essence interlinked and connected to one another with the bond of resemblance. The project examines the transformation of flat surfaces into three dimensional objects and the relations between structure and mantle.

The collection presents artistic stage and custom jewellery alongside dainty and commercial pieces. The process of creation combines classical crafting and contemporary tools such as vacuum forming, rhino design program, laser cut and burning. The components are made of PVC, alpaca and cordura fabric, newspaper, plugs, brass and zirconia rhinestones.
