I am Lianna Sheppard a fledgling Fashion and Jewellery Designer, having studied Fashion since College, whilst on my MA at Kingston in 2010, developing my ‘Modu_gram’ collection I saw my practice become a lot more experimental veering away from just clothes to more body architectures and adornments after graduating, I was craving a new creative project, so that is when I started creating ‘Ocular_’.
I have always loved making my own jewellery and discovered how amazing laser cutting is at Uni, so thought making a jewellery collection would be fun and was something I had always wanted to do. So, inspired by my life long love of pattern, shape and colour, as well as optical illusions, where through a trick of the eye, a flat object can appear 3D, I began designing my Jewellery collection ‘Ocular’, the full range of which is now available here in my shop!
Each of the pieces are made from laser cut and sometimes etched Acrylic, in bold bright colours, including Yellow, Pink, Black, Purple, Blue and Red as well as some special pieces that are available in Silver mirror Acrylic. The collection of geometric, graphic and eye catching designs are all designed and made lovingly by myself, here in the UK. Pieces available include Necklaces, Rings, Brooches, Earrings and Cufflinks.
Since I began designing my first pieces in November 2010, Ocular_ has gone from strength to strength and I now have Stockists, all over the world and online, with the list growing monthly! Stockists include Domestica, in the USA and Hyphen, in Belgium as well as several in the UK including Magma and KK Outlet in London. I have also had stock in several London ‘Pop up’ shops including Supermarket Sarah, in Selfridges. As well as regularly selling at Markets in London, particularly on the vibrant, Brick Lane. I have also been involved in events with The Secret Emporium and had the pleasure of trading with them at Bestival this Summer (2012)!!
As well as the Jewellery I have many ideas up my sleeve, I am planning to make some printed pieces to fit alongside the existing Ocular range aesthetically (T-Shirts, Tote Bags etc) and I hope to bring these into reality over the next year or so.
Commissions are accepted, please just get in touch and I will be happy to discuss any ideas/ specifications you may have.

Inspired by mathematical models and fractional forms, ‘Modu_gram’ is a collection or series of 3D wearable structures. Initially created through simple folds and origami’s generating form on varying scales each structure is then named separately, Octa, Tetra, Edra and Poly.
The pieces themselves transform through the use of several different means; light, movement, structure and colour, all shown using performance also with the use of built in magnets allowing pieces to be worn at different positions on the body the form generation is exclusive to the user or wearer in the moment.
Modu_gram is as much about Fashion process as it is about product, I am looking in depth at the generative series, at how we assemble, create, perform and transform as an infinite and continuous series in itself.
