The multimedia installation was developed at Tadao Ando’s structure for Aomori Contemporary Art Centre. Based on structural analogy of the exhibition building and the solar system, the artist exchanged them dimensionally in a ‘Mitate’ manner by applying the size of the exhibition building onto sun scale and calculating the neighboring areas of the solar system – in Art Centre scale. The video installation features material that was shot while walking the orbits of the terrestrial planets – embodying the planets while leaving a track on their way. The orbit walk as an extension of the human body space into celestial space scale at the same time tries in reversion to downscale the cosmic space into individual scale. The inability of experiencing and comprehending anything outside of one’s very own internal is met by internalization of the entire universe into one individual’s body. The orbit walks were executed in connection with celestial objects – navigating using GPS the artist made her orbits while the satellites passed around the earth.

Linda lives and works as a media artist in Berlin. In addition to her focus on video and installation art, she works with a number of media and approaches. Her works have been exhibited worldwide, including the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre in Japan, the New York Hall of Science, USA and the Kunstraum Bethanien of Berlin. In 2014 she was nominated finalist for the Lumen Prize Digital Media Art Award and won the 2nd price award of the Future Storytelling Transmedia Competition of Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.

リンダ・ハーヴェンシュタイン（Linda Havenstein）
1984年ドイツ出身ベルリン在住。ライプチヒ大学を卒業。
作品の主旨は、インターヴェンション、フィルム、そしてインスタレーションなど様々なメディアやアプローチを利用して、彼女の思考が認識できる形へと構築していくことである。リンダ・ハーヴェンシタインにとって、アートスペーステトラの展示は、日本における初の個展とな る。
彼女の作品は、現実において異なったアイデアを繋げる役割を生み出すのだが、文脈的、社会的及び文化的条件にそれらアイデアを並べていきながら談話を引用していく。これまで数々のアートショー、ギャラリーやフェスティヴァルに出品され、ドイツ、イタリア、日本、そしてアメリカと広く紹介されてきた。
