Mads Lynnerup’s work often takes place outside of the studio and involves a social engagement or interactions with audience directly and indirectly. Through performance, video, and installation he explores and experiments with the definition of what art might be, and how art can reach beyond the four walls of a gallery or museum. Recently, Lynnerup has been making objects that can be used to get a full exercise with and by that, transforming exhibitions into a gym. His work has been exhibited at San Francisco Museum of Art, MoMA PS.1, Mori Art Museum (Tokyo), and he was awarded a Toby Devan Lewis Fellowship, Eureka Fellowship, and Artadia Award.
