Wear me and I am clothing

An object that lies in the middle of different disciplines of design. Being fascinated by the moment in which a product becomes an object. The moment when a product loses its function, but still suggests this.
Making certainties uncertain is the main driver in my work as an object designer. I observe the little things in human behaviour that might go unnoticed and place them out of their context. With the objects I make, I am not giving any concrete answers, but visualizing different possibilities. This is mainly made visual in three dimensional, storytelling objects in which functionality makes place for conceptuality.

Making certainties uncertain is the main driver in Marit her work as an object designer. By exploring boundaries between conventional ideas and the unknown, she reveals different perspectives. This is mainly made visual in storytelling objects.
Marit her vision is also shown in her graduation project ‚The human body is a cliché’ with which she graduated at the jewellery department of Maastricht Academie of Fine Arts and Design in 2015. Within her graduation project Marit researches wearability, a factor that connects body and object. These objects allow wearability, but
also contradict this. With this contradiction in her work,
Marit does not give concrete answers, but she visualizes different possibilities in order to change the familiarization in the relationship between body and object.
