Born in Argentina, Mira has lived and worked in Panama since 2000. She studied graphic and industrial design in her native country and worked for more than ten years as an Art Director at various advertising agencies and in the Communications Department of UNICEF. Before moving permanently to Panama, she worked in Argentina, Brazil, and Portugal.

Since 2002, her interests have gradually shifted from graphic design exclusively to the fine arts. She has participated in two Panama Art Biennials and two Central American Biennials, as well as numerous other contemporary art exhibitions in Panama. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Panamá (MAC), and the private collections of the Cervercería Nacional de Panamá (National Brewery of Panama) and the Fundación Fernández-Pirla (Fernández-Pirla Foundation).

Mira creates objects and installations, photographs, digital paintings, photographic interventions (with digital media or paint) and interventions in private and public spaces. She is currently using more traditional painting techniques, but her work continues to feature contemporary subjects and images. The language of the graphic arts and advertising is ever present in her art.

Bunker öffne dich: Seit dieser Woche zeigen Christian und Karen Boros die zweite Ausstellung ihrer Privatsammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst in ihrem Hochbunker von 1942. Wer denkt, ein Bunker – ohne Licht und ohne Fenster – sei nicht gerade der ideale Kunststandort, wird bei den Boros vom Gegenteil überzeugt. Sehr gut fügen sich die 130 Werke von 22 Künstlern in den grauen Betonkasten ein. Viele Arbeiten sind von den Künstlern sogar persönlich angebracht worden, wie der verwaschene Baumstamm von Olafur Eliasson im Entrée. Der Hingucker im Bunker ist allerdings Ai WeiWeis solitärer “Tree”, sieben Meter hoch sprengt er sein Verlies. Einen Tag vor Weiweis Verhaftung im letzten Jahr kaufte Boros das aus einzelnen Ästen und Stämmen zusammengeschraubte Artefakt.
Neben Ai Weiwei und Eliasson sind Awst & Walther, Dirk Bell, Cosima von Bonin, Marieta Chirulescu, Thea Djordjadze, Alicja Kwade, Klara Lidén, Florian Meisenberg, Thomas Ruff und weitere vertreten.
Boros Bunker ist ein spektakulärer Ausstellungsort, der zum Ungewöhnlichsten zählt, was die Kunststadt Berlin an Locations zu bieten hat.
