BIO:
Natalie Shau is mixed media artist and photographer based in Lithuania (Vilnius). She found interest in fashion and portrait photography as well as digital illustration and photo art.
Despite her personal work, Natalie also creates artwork and photography for musicians, theater, fashion magazines, writers and advertisement.

She also worked as an art director for a short 3d movie of Kamel Ouali musical “Dracula”.

Natalie Shau is illustrator and photographer from Lithuania (Vilnius). She works mainly in digital media and Natalie’s works are mixture of her photography, digital painting and 3D elements. She enjoys creating surreal and strange creatures, fragile and powerful at the same time. Natalie’s style was influenced a lot by religious imagery, fairytales illustrations classic horror literature and Russian classic literature such as Fyodor Dostoevsky, Nikolai Gogol etc.
Natalie Shau constantly keeps working on her own personal artwork and exhibitions, but also enjoys creating illustrations for music bands, fashion designers and writers.
Myabe some of you have seen her emblematic works that have become very popular in the internet art forums such as deviantart.com. But if you’ve never seen her creations now it’s time to have a look. Hope you’ll enjoy.
I post these art works cause I find them connected with fashion . Actually they are fashion portrets with great styling, make up and models. Many of these images can be used as an idea for a fashion collection. They represent the goth style that I showed in my last post. So I can say that those pieces of art are fashion and their place is here.

Natalie Shau nació en Villnius, Lituania, y es conocida por su trabajo como fotógrafa e ilustradora. Mezcla la fotografía con el tratamiento digital y dice inspirarse en la literatura rusa, autores como Dostoevsky o Gogol, pero también la literatura gótica y de horror.

Descubrí su trabajo a través de la portada del disco de Poisonblack “Lust Stained Despair” y me pareció una obra magnífica. Con posterioridad ha ilustrado las portadas de otros grupos como Flowing Tears o Lacuna Coil. Sus ilustraciones parecen sacadas de un cuento de hadas gótico, siempre tienen algo de oscuro, hermoso y surrealista al mismo tiempo. Mezcla los tonos con maestría, el negro con el verde esmeralda, el gris perla con el rojo intenso… Sus modelos expresan misterio, elegancia y fuerza.

Lo mejor: la mezcla de belleza con elementos oníricos y macabros.
Lo peor: que el haber realizado trabajos más comerciales la lleven al conformismo en un futuro.

娜塔莉·筲，我很喜欢的黑暗风格艺术家。 她使用摄影加上后期电脑处理的方法制作插画，时而偏向摄影时而偏向纯调插画。作品精美、细致、神秘、怪诞。我尤其喜欢她的后期的作品，脱离了运用突兀直接的形态，表达方式更婉转更具有深度和内涵，更值得琢磨、品味。

Natalie Shau é uma ilustradora e fotógrafa que nasceu na Rússia, mas hoje vive na Lituânia.
Sempre que trago artistas desse estilo nessa tag, causo uma certa polêmica. Tem gente que gosta, mas acho que a maioria não, haha. De qualquer forma, não tem como negar que a Natalie é muito talentosa, e consegue fazer imagens “dark”, mas sem apelar, usando elegância e delicadeza.
Como eu disse, ela usa a fotografia e a ilustração juntas: fotografa as modelos e faz a pós-produção no Photoshop. O que eu acho bacana no trabalho dela, é que dá para perceber o que ela faz para uso comercial e o que é autoral. E mesmo assim, ela consegue manter seu estilo em ambos os casos.

I disegni di Natalie Shau, bellissima ed enigmatica illustratrice lituana, emanano un fascino onirico, a tratti gotico e surreale fatto di minuscole principesse acefale cavalcanti pony tatuati e misteriose vedove di rosso vestite che si dissolvono nel vento con la levità della cenere.

Originaria di Vilnius, l’artista, esperta d’arte digitale, ha uno stile tutto proprio, dall’ inconfondibile gusto fiabesco e tridimensionale. Nei suoi lavori sono evidenti allusioni letterarie o dettagli estratti dai classici del genere Horror, da Alice nel paese delle meraviglie alle fumose e toccanti atmosfere di Dostoevsky e Gogol.

Natalie assorbe la magia dei libri e crea fantastiche eroine zuccherose e crudeli dallo sguardo magnetico e la pelle diafana. Alcuni dei suoi disegni sono stati utilizzati da famose band musicali come covers dei propri dischi.

L’artista collabora con svariati brand commerciali, annunci pubblicitari, testate giornalistiche e case editrici . Le sue mostre riscuotono un ottimo successo e i fans impazziscono per le sue bamboline tristi, emulandone lo stile o riproducendoli come tatuaggi sul corpo.
