An ongoing experimental walking and mapping interaction – using GPS and video – to discover the site of British land artist Richard Long’s ‘Brough of Birsay Circle’ (1994), in Birsay, Orkney.
Rik Hammond is a visual artist living and working in Orkney – the archipelago off the northernmost tip of Scotland. He works in a range of traditional and digital media – including drawing, photography, video, sound and time-based interaction – and has a particular passion for Art and Research, the role and use(s) of drawing, cross-discipline collaboration, landscape, memory, art history and archaeology. Between 2011 and 2012 he was the Orkney World Heritage Site artist-in-residence.
