Augmented Structures
source: quadratureco
The project seeks interaction between space, sound, visual and light, an interference between architecture and media. It deals with a still to be mediated space: How to translate the logic of media into architecture, to create new, interdisciplinary and connected urban experiences?
Field recordings of Istiklal Street are transformed into a architectural, three-dimensional structure temporarily mounted upon a house located at Istiklal Street. A visual performance projected on the structure multiplies the references and relations: the recorded sounds are reused for generatively designing the visuals and aesthetics, which in turn influence the appearance of the real structure.
