The Nothingness of Amelie

The project” The Nothingness of Amelie” is full of comfortable colors, and it’s just like lying on an extremely soft bed, which like lying in the cloud. At some point, all of them will dissolve into nothingness.

Let us introduce you to this talented 26-year old photographer and graphic designer from Taiwan named Sydney Sie. The photographic series “Nothingness of Amelie” that he sent us recently inspired us through the bright colors and amusing imagery.
He often uses strong gradient colors, optical illusions and combines his creative guidelines with a massive portion of beautiful women. He captures surreal moments which he arranges analogue before taking photographs. This definitely has something to do with his approach to good graphic design because graphical elements can often be seen in his works. His deep interest in strong, bright color gradients gives his photos a unique look. “I’m always searching for a unique way to see the inside and outside of things, and depict the extreme of sleeping with my eyes open,” says Sydney. He adds: “The project “The Nothingness of Amelie” is full of comfortable colors, and it’s just like lying on an extremely soft bed, which like lying in the clouds. At some point, all of them will dissolve into nothingness.”

My artwork is often rife with gradient color, optical illusion and everything about feminine. I want my works to be bright but eerie, and include aspects of graphic that particularly interest my such as colour. I like to capture surreal moments, but those moments or atmospheres I created through different analogue and, or digital approaches.
