Steve Soctt directed these huge visuals to accompany Led Zeppelin’s one off encore performance of ‘Kashmir’ for the world’s biggest screen finished in HD the complex visuals evolved slowly over a 30ft + screen to rapturous applause at the much feted O2 Arena.
SINCE 1999 STEVE SCOTT HAS CREATED MANY ANIMATED PROMOS, INCLUDING CLIPS FOR AUSTRALIAN BAND SILVERCHAIR AND THE PHENOMENAL VIDEO FOR FRENCH HIP HOP TURNTABLIST BIRDY NAM NAM WHICH SAW HIM HIGHLY NOMINATED FOR AWARDS AND FESTIVALS ON A INTERNATIONAL LEVEL, INCLUDING THE BA BRITISH ANIMATION AWARDS, UK MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, RENDER YARD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, THE HOLLAND ANIMATION FILM FESTIVAL AND THE FUTURE FILM FESTIVAL IN BOLOGNA TO NAME BUT A FEW.
HIS CLIP, ‘SUBURBAN HARMONY’ WAS FEATURED IN THE ONEDOTZERO FESTIVAL IN 2006 AND HIS ILLUSTRATIONS WERE SHOWCASED AT THE CONTEMPORARY GRAPHIC DESIGN EXHIBITION AT THE POWERHOUSE MUSEUM IN SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. HIS CHARACTER DESIGN HAS APPEARED AT THE PICTOPLASMA BERLIN CHARACTER DESIGN FESTIVAL AND HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN THE HIGHLY COVETED PICTOPLASMA BOOK.
HIS WORK WITH NOKIA IN 2007 WAS NOMINATED FOR THE KODAK GONGS FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS AND HE HAS SINCE DIRECTED FOR THE LIKES OF CHANNEL FOUR, VOLVO, KODAK, SKY AND COMIC RELIEF. AFTER ANIMATING CHARACTER’S ILLUSTRATED BY BIG ACTIVE’S WILL SWEENEY, STEVE WAS APPROACHED TO DIRECT AN ANIMATION TO ACCOMPANY LED ZEPPELIN’S ENCORE PERFORMANCE OF ‘KASHMIR’ FOR THE WORLD’S BIGGEST SCREEN AT THE O2 ARENA IN DECEMBER 2007. THANKFULLY HIS TALENT IS COUPLED WITH ONE OF THE MOST EASY GOING PERSONALITIES YOU COULD HOPE TO WORK WITH WHICH PREVENTS THE JEALOUSY GETTING TOO OUT OF HAND.

Steve Scott recently created an animated backdrop for Led Zeppelin’s re-union concert in London. The band played Kashmir for 20,000 fans in front of a 28 x 12 meter screen while this deco-psychedelic film played — the only video in the whole show. Nice work if you can get it.
