Artist Statement

The artist tries to describe the pain encountered in human life. The pain that has no definite logic and no easing solutions. The hands are portrayed as symbols of desire, continue to grow from the human body like wings, but cannot fly. People are bound to each other and struggling with each other, again and again. Life and Eros hangs in the air, lonely and vulnerable, but return to ashes in the end. People are fascinated by their own flesh, but to the artist, the flesh perhaps is just one of the clothes we wear in our lives. Animals calmly watch over at all happenings from its beginning till its end, though they themselves have become part of the sacrifice. Tian explores the idea of life through this video, pondering upon these thoughts: What are the aims of our lives? What inescapable force is binding us? What is the source of pain? What will happen when desire reaches its limit?
