Zach Gold was one of the first artists in the world to successfully blend the subtle complexities of both camera and computer to produce photorealistic digital art. Shortly after he began shooting he was selected by the New York Art Directors Club as one of the top 100 artists in New York City under 35 years old. Articles about his groundbreaking work have been featured in China Vogue, Harpers Bazaar Art, Vogue.com, French Photo and many others. About a recent fashion film Zach directed Vogue had this to say “The movie could be the beginning of a whole new genre of entertainment; fashion cinema”. Introducing him as “one of the leaders in creative image making,” Peter Jennings presented Zach with the International Center of Photography’s “Young Photographer of the Year”. Other award recipients that evening included Helmut Newton and Robert Frank. Zach’s work was then exhibited during New York’s annual fashion shows, where he was named “one of the ten photographers changing photography.”

Zach is founder and co-curator of PLAYGROUND, an independent collective that explores and celebrates the experiential relationship between fashion and art through exhibition, installation, and custom artwork collections. Playground launched at Anna Kustera Gallery in New York. Subsequent hosts of Playground included Colette in Paris, Selfridges in London, and the MOCA Museum in Los Angeles. Two copies of Playground 1 are in the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Playground also recently curated an installation at the Museum of Art and Design in New York for their paper ball.

Zach has exhibited and spoken in the United States, Russia, France, Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Italy , United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong. A recent film for the designers A.F. Vandevorst recently was shown at the Pompidou Center in Paris and has been invited to the Rotterdam Film Festival where he was invited to speak on the subject of fashion films. Zach’s films have been shown at New Holland in St Petersburg, Sao Paolo Short Film Festival and the New York Fashion Film Festival.

His distinguished style and innovative approaches towards photography and film making have attracted some of the biggest names in the creative industries. Among others, Zach has collaborated with, David Bowie, David Beckham, Iggy Pop, Iman, Lebron James, Steve Carrell and many others. Zach was personally asked by 50 Cent to shoot the cover of his album, The Massacre.
